Hello retrorides.
Although not interesting in itself, i think it may be interesting to some on here in another way.
For sale here is my Astra Van. back in october my Vito was blown to bits by a lorry. My insurance subsequintley paid me out a few days before christmas, being in a rush to get something i bought this awesome little astra van as a stop gap. I bought it as a stop gap as i didn't know what i really wanted, another truck or another vito, so i bought this for my day to day tasks until i had figured a more long term plan. Now i have figured a long term plan (buy another truck) this astra van is up for sale.
Let me try and lay out the vitals here.
2000 Astra Van Dual Fuel Envoy
1.6 8V petrol
Factory fitted fully functional LPG
Mot Until March
170k
Remote central locking
Remove able tow bar and hiden light board plug
Like i say I have been running this for a short while and I have honestly been in a huge toss up over getting rid of it or keeping it, The LPG on this thing is fantastic. I filled the thing to the brim a month ago for £18, thats all i could fit in, i then stuck £5 of petrol in. This has lasted me the whole of January and has dropped my fuel bill astronomically.
The cool thing with these astra vans is they share the same parts as an estate or 4 door astra salon. The van doesn't have electric windows but 4dr ones fit no problem. This van is a 2 seat van, but you can take estate astra rear seats which fit in very simply.
The van is ply lined in the back, drives very well, gets up and gets a move on no trouble be it on LPG or Petrol and i can honestly say I can not tell a difference between the LPG or petrol when i am driving, i often have to check the light in the dash to see what it is running on.
Despite the mileage the van seems to go very well and i have no concerns about it, it seems to be totally sound. When I got this van it was bought from a large firm so I can only assume that maitinence was taken car of as it should have been. Tyres all seem legal, lights are all good as well.
The van does have some negatives about it.
Short MOT, if i have it for any period of time I will put another MOT on it, i suspect it will not need anything at all to get through a test but for the agro of having to book it in i will be putting the price up and then wacking it up on ebay.
The body has seen better days but this didn't bother me. I only use it for lugging car parts around, running to the tip, lugging parts out of scrap yards and what not.
The interior is quite grubby from years of commercial use. i will give this a going over with my wet vac and try to tidy it up a bit. Alternatively my local breakers has a set of cab leathers for £60.
Please Note - Sign writing has been removed and the LPG cap has been replaced.
i am based in the ME8 Area of kent.
I like to think that i describe my cars well, it isn't mint, but it is a super cheap tat hauler, that is mega cheap to run as well. if you would like to view please drop me a PM.
Price, I am asking £450, you're welcome to give me an offer but i wont be giving this away as i think its quite well priced as it is.
