*I HAVE FOUND THE KEY AND IT STARTED FIRST TIME THIS MORNING IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED*
About the car:
This car was bought from new by a local chap who cared for it for many years before it was sold to my sister-in-law, she had it for a few years before passing it onto us, unfortunately it's a bit big and expensive to run and it does need work so we're looking to get shot of it. The MOT has expired and to top it off we've lost the key, the car isn't locked and the immobiliser isn't active. I get paid at the end of the week and plan to buy a barrel and key which are about £15-£20 on Ebay, but if you're interested in it and what to do it yourself you're welcome to do that. I've got tools and teabags to help.
It has a leak on the rocker cover gasket and needs a service, it overheated before Christmas and has had new core plugs fitted, it's smokey when it starts up but it drives fine and it has a LOT of pull for a 1.8. It feels so over powered for it's size because it's so easy and fun to drive, it's like a big comfy go-kart. The best feature are the pillarless doors, they make it for me.
The faux walnut effect is peeling off the dash and there is a rip in the driver's seat. There is a dent on the rear left wing above the fuel door, but it could be pushed out. A hub cap is missing and there's still the key thing, but what's a key eh?
I've put it on here as it might be useful for parts, I don't know if these cars are considered retro but I don't see too many of them about. I couldn't say what it would need for an MOT, it does have a comprehensive service history with it which may provide clues. The stereo and poor quality wobbly children's play pony isn't included.
I've put a £150 price but there's a lot of room for movement, I'm open to potential swaps, trades, anything that you think it might be worth to you.
