well had time so got the engine stripped (yet another one )
bought one of these marked out the mod on the sump and chopped oil pump in the way there are alternatives but way out of my price range well it should fit now as I took a chunk out
lost some oil capacity but I think I may add a lump of steel on the rear of the sump later need to get it all strong again I think and check the bolt gappage betwixed the sump and the gearbox for access and I need to tidy the garage again

Loads of space, except for those few places where you need it. Why do engines do this? Shows promise so far.
