Lol, yep I'm the mint growing guy! Currently growing some more on, to go back on the dashboard. I didn't even know you could get the other side of the strip! I saw people sitting on the grass bank, but didn't realise there was anything else behind. A few people have said that about the position of my stand... I will have to actually come and say hello next time I see you, I'll be with Ash most likely

Not really done much to the Nova recently. Just enjoyed the show season. Got round to doing a full service and the Pierburg and I'm now averaging 43mpg!! Also got a small segment in Classic Car Weekly so had some photos taken at a little spot in Iron Bridge. Feel free to mock the photographer forced pose...

Loving this motor! Any updates, Botedly? No real updates at the moment. She's tucked up for winter. Cleaned out the rear arches and used Hamerite to try and keep moister from making the inner arches bad.

That wonky bumper is winding me up! LOL! About time they pulled a finger out and gave you the cash to repair it!
Also, noticed with your filler patch, is it the angle or does it not quite follow the line of the arch with a bit of a wobble on there? Not having a go at all, please don't mistake my tone, it's just such a straight (and rare!) car, imperfections stand out more. Are you planning on going back to it at some point? Would hate to see it rot out from there, would be such a shame!
Little tip for you for pulling rust out of metal in situ (we're talking the kind of rust that's really in the metal)... Rub off the surface crud, get a half drain pipe (as in gutter shaped), silicone, and a 12v power supply. Bond the pipe over the area starting to corrode, fill with water and use electrolysis with a soda crystal solution to draw the rot out and seal it up. Works real well if you have patience with it (thinking for your troublesome arches).
Don't take this the wrong way, I mean this in a good way not a bad way, but I love the airbags and sub in the boot... It's the right amount of (and this is the only word I can find to fit) "Chavtastic" - in that it nods to the stereotype of these cars from the 90's while not being silly, and still looking well looked after and stock-ish. God when I read that back it sounds all wrong, I hope it comes over the way I mean it? I think I mean that you have got it "Just Right"

Oh... And the photographer's pose... Your face looks a bit like the Daddy's tomato sauce bottles, I wonder if someone is good enough with photoshop to turn it upside down and see if you still look the same? LOL LOL

Had a 1.0 B reg Nova as my first car in a similar colour. Loving what you've done. Keep up the good work.

I think I mean that you have got it "Just Right" All body work I've had a go at myself is temp work, it's been played up for now, once the rear end gets sorted, the rear arches will be too (already have replacement panels). I like what I've done, it's different but not Max Power era different

That's exactly it^ Not "Max Power" at all... You know what it makes me think of? My mate years back, he had a Renault 5 (well, his Mum did, he just drove it). He used to modify it, but only to within the bounds his Mum would let him. So he had alloys, but not silly ones, they were tasteful. He had a sound system, but nothing silly big. He had a stainless exhaust, but it was hushed and not a bean can you can lose a family pet in. It was tickled lower, but only a touch, and wasn't stiff. And it had no stupid stickers on it. That is what yours reminds me of... No, I don't mean "Modified with your pocket money with what your Mum will let you do without getting grounded" - I mean customised with restraint. Which means the car remains tasteful. Given that as a general rule I hate Novas (granted irrationally) almost as much as I hate cats... I like this one, in the same way I like tigers. Tigers are cats, cats are sh!t, but tigers are cool. Novas are sh!t, but this one isn't sh!t, it's cool. But hey what do I know, I like all things VAG, the older the better... Some of the stuff I've owned was properly sh!t LOL

I'm not a huge fan of Novas, I wouldn't have another hatchback if you paid me! I just fell in love with this one

This brings back memories of my Aunt's B reg 1.0 saloon that she had, bought it new and had it about 10 years in the end.
Love the look of yours, and agree about the mods that look 'just right' - I definitely prefer the chip cutter grille on the front of them (a saloon specific thing if I remember correctly)

Thanks for the kind words

I see how that sounded, I just don't want to go about saying my "big plans" (for the Nova) to then realise I might not be capable I'm gonna give it my best efforts though.
