'scuse the quick Potatochop...... chop the sideboard somewhere near the end of lower panel? then a slot in board across the bed for storage as is and the back end 'pop' stylee? what you'd need ideally is an old rusty Acty cab/chassis as a donor for the panels to try out The only downside to my rusty donor is that is doesn't have side panels. And I really wouldn't want to cut these down. I'd probably be better off selling these and buying two end panels to use as side panels. The other problem is where the engine cover sits - i could probably get away with having one of those mesh panels you can get for the back panel so it can be removed or it's flexible enough to allow access to engine panel.

On the way home from work I picked up two 3.5mm to RCA cables - one for iPod for music and one for phone for sat nav. I plugged the RCA plugs in to the amp front inputs and the 3.5mm jack into my iPod and browsed to my go to setup track - Billie Jean by Michael Jackson. (Cables will be hidden away once I’ve mounted the iPod properly - probably with Velcro onto the blanking plate between the middle air vents) I set the switches to High Pass Filter to filter out frequencies below 80Hz as the minimum these speakers can handle is 66Hz. I then flicked the rocker switch on the dashboard which is acting as a switched power source for the amp. I pressed play with the volume about halfway on the iPod and was disappointed until I realised I’d left the cap on the flask! removed that much better. Then I remembered the amp has gain controls for each input. Turn turn turn turn. Damn powerbox micro name is absolutely spot on! I’ve not even built the second flask with the right speaker in yet but the output was very impressive from just an iPod, the amp, and a single 4” speaker from vibe’s budget speaker ranger slick. When I was searching high and low for RCA cables last night I found this Japanese biscuit box that’s been sitting around waiting for a use and decided it would make the perfect amp cover until i get chance to build something more in keeping with my truck’s theme.

I pressed play with the volume about halfway on the iPod and was disappointed until I realised I’d left the cap on the flask! removed that much better. See, that´s why I suggested a white-painted speaker grille attached to the top of the cap - no more need to remove first. Instead you can drill a few hundred micro-ish holes. Truck is getting better and better!

Gravity was much more local than the two goodwood shows though thankfully!

Seeing lots of minis with sexy tread led to me breaking my resistance. A pair of yoko advan A032Rs in 165/70/10 ordered for my rear wheels. The same rolling diameter as the 145/80/10s but slightly wider so will fit on the rear with possibly a bit more side panel fettling but not the front. Hopefully running good tyres on the rear but rubbish ones on the front (haven’t found good ones in 145/80/10 yet) won’t cause any problems!

Cut lines marked up... I couldn’t get one bolt out of the side panel so cut it in place But then reached metal and it’s too late to angle grind so will need to do more cutting tomorrow. Catching on full drop so marked up again... I’ll move the crates over by 1” tomorrow too, should be easy enough to do as there’s enough plastic on the other side to move across and redrill I’m pleased with how it looks though, just to echo this is with suspension up high! I’ll still be rolling and parking at the same height once the cutting is complete tomorrow.

It’s okay to think a wheel and tyre combo is sexy isn’t it? Isn’t it?! I certainly hope so.

Wheels look good.
I suspect you slept with them next to your bed.
Waiting to see them fitted now.
