So. 27 years after leaving school I finally went back last year and on Fri this happened. DSC_3162 by quickrack, on Flickr Not exactly a Degree but I'm proud of myself. In other news I sold a few bits on ebay. That means I bought a few bits for cars. Exciting times beckon as I have free time on my hands again. DSC_3036 by quickrack, on Flickr new fuel filter element. I meant to photograph the old one. Its amazing the curse word that accumulates in fuel. DSC_3016 by quickrack, on Flickr Soon as the ordered fuel pressuse gauge arrives I'll fit all and bring it for a tuning run. This is the car in case you'd not seen it. So. 27 years after leaving school I finally went back last year and on Fri this happened. DSC_3162 by quickrack, on Flickr Not exactly a Degree but I'm proud of myself. Well done. My professional institution now requires a pass at Diploma, BSc and Post Grad for the various levels of membership. I joined back when it was first formed, so became a Member (now BSc level) immediately. Just for doing it, I signed up for the degree course, run out of Glasgow University. This nicely coincided with a two year period of two weeks UK, two weeks Bangkok, two weeks UK, two weeks Kuala Lumpur, rinse and repeat. Pretty intense. Didn't know what day it was sometimes. It was never going to happen, but they made me a Fellow anyway - Post grad level now. I'd like to have completed it though. Still got me 5 "O" Levels though. So, again, well done.

Good on you for doing the college thing, I think I could do with a bit of retraining but at 54 I'm going to carry on as is!

Good day at the market yesterday resulted in this haul. DSC_3224 by quickrack, on Flickr All the rusty bits are in a bath of vinegar for the next week. DSC_3203 by quickrack, on Flickr This is for screwing onto the valve of a truck wheel and connecting directly to the airline. A highly illegal device now that will see your tyre shop closed. Kinda cool though for....€2 DSC_3221 by quickrack, on Flickr This is a truck tyre pressure gauge. Chrome plated brass with Made in USA stamped on, its a cool wee device. €2 it was. Delighted!! DSC_3222 by quickrack, on Flickr Handy lockable box. DSC_3220 by quickrack, on Flickr Lads weeks finds came out well after a wee wash and a spray of WD 40. It even lifted the paint off the saw blades. DSC_3211 by quickrack, on Flickr This sweet ride passed through town. IMG_20181003_152708_246 by quickrack, on Flickr IMG_20181003_152708_244 by quickrack, on Flickr Then things went south. My wee pup Sprocket wriggled under the wire and brought home a neighbours chicken. He had already tried to kill one of ours. Then today he did this to Niall's (6yr old) pet duck. One wing damaged, other broken and neck bleeding in multiple places. Wife's had enough and he has to go. I've spent a great deal of time trying to train him to no avail. Gutted. Sad to hear about the dog we had a similar issue with one of ours, we rehomed him and he was fine, some dogs just need a different environment, ours needed to be with people all the time, no matter what we tried. He turned out very well with his new owners so it was the right thing. Son wants a wolf hound but realises its a working dog and wont fit his life style at the moment

It will come in handy even if you never use it

The warden here is keeping an eye/ear open for a new owner. Gonna miss my buddy!!

Damn shame about the dog, and the duck. Sure there's a pub name in there somewhere. I hope they can re-home him. As said, a change of environment, without temptations, may just be the ticket. Perhaps something less terrier type, or maybe a curse word* next time? My two ladies, despite poor beginnings have sweet souls. That's the dogs, not Madam and Tania! * that's the accepted word for a female dog!

I lvoe threads like these nad its taken a good couple of days to get up to scratch! Keep up the good work. The latest photo of the ford (Matte Black) is that the Orange one? Will do, thanks. The orange has deteriorated to the point of needing re-doing so it will remain matte black till i save up the price of the re-spray.

Dogs going off the rails is always sad as it hurts both parties.
Lets hope he gets to find a good home.
And sorry for the loss too.

In a cruel twist out beloved cat JINX died yesterday. She developed an inoperable tumour. What a week! DSC_1037 by quickrack, on Flickr DSC_1035 by quickrack, on Flickr The most affectionate murderous purr machine ever. She will be sadly missed. I cried like a little girl.....

We lost one of our 8 week old kittens Friday, we rescued them at 3 weeks old. Amazing how attached you can get to them in a short space of time

Somehow missed this Alan. I am really sorry. I was torn inside with Dukey but knew if I let go, it may not have been easy to get control back. I watched a Ben Fogle programme last night with a Buddhist monk in Thailand, foregoing family and life, yet his loss of a cat after 15 years broke his heart. As evidenced by Nicolas posting on FB, Dukey was not like your killing machine, but equally loved. I hope you feel better soon.

Thankfully they are, for now, retired, George. I like the shapes and names. I have a few more to get ready incl an Enfield one and a SUPERRENCH. Cast without the W I wonder if it was an older spelling or what?? I think they are cool old things and will look good on the wall eventually.

So I found this, literally on the side of the road. I wonder would it be possible to use it as a tank for air shocks??
