Now PB has stopped being an !!!! So somewhere in one of the early RRG threads in this section I was sure I shared some resolutions I had for the Gathering this year 1. Enjoy the weekend (Last year was hard – this year needed to be more fun – I have no problem with hard work just needs to be enjoyable as well) 2. Get to walk the campsite at least a couple of times 3. Donate some stuff to the Tat Auction and get to go to it on Sat night (tat auction virgin despite being at every RRG) 4. Get to sit down on Sunday (I brought a chair) 5. Take Pictures - it seems I am in the perfect place every year and I take maybe one or two shots On Sunday after the show finished I took stock of if I’d achieved my resolutions 1. The weekend was fun – the Mid day BBQ’s and fluid recharge opportunities really helped – the Show Field work wasn’t a killer - it went well and we had the bulk of it done by Friday - the Hill went well – there were issues but we can work on plans to fix those (see Hill Climb feedback thread) 2. I got to walk the campsite several times and I got to chat to friends for a little while without feeling like I was slacking off or not supporting the rest of the helpers - judging by the fact I met most of the RRG set up crew HoTWire gewy HARDCORE Robinxr4i VIP and Keefy in the camping area at one time or another I'm guessing we all felt the same. 3. I attended the Tat Auction kevfromwales - you are a perfect choice for auctioneer tigran - do you always get stuck with note taking? 4. I thought I’d failed at the "sit down" element but on reflection I did have a ride up the Hill in Brad’s “Bonkers Rotary” and I had to sit down for that so I’m calling that as achieved 5. I took pictures – not as many as I wanted too but I had the camera with me most of the time – started to write this thread and some picture commentary and PB is being a bit tetchy so sacked that idea off for a while - they will be added soon I did set up my little compact camera to do a time lapse (twice - first time it was stolen - actually it was brought back to the info hut because it started to rain - I actually didn't realise it had been so the next time I looked for it it was gone and I was a bit sad till I discovered what had happened) anyway it was a complete failure and it appears I need to read the manual more. Second attempt was from the start line but again I obviously didn't have a bloody clue what I was doing as it didn’t work!!! So 5/5 for my resolutions but enough of that – I need to make with the Pikatours that did get taken "Stat"

At last PB has decided to play nicely So lets take a couple of steps back to the set up days Really liked the BBQ's and I've said all that already but it really worked A corny moment for Tash (lunch matches shoes moment) Smiley Happy People - I must have said something HARDCORE VIP Robinxr4i SpeedmanJust to show there was work Speedman and VIPDraining clouds ready for your arrival Guest car Celica Hiding from the rain on Saturday Can't see it...... OK zoomy zoomy Tat Auction - the leg end that is kevfromwalesNow lets crack on with a few from my pen "can I run with my bonnet off" I was asked - Obviously some sort of weight saving....... I mean it's not like it's a good looking 6 banger with a bloody great snail nailed in there 2.5 16 (on the subject of numbers I did eventually learn what a fifteen52's was) Sooooo Faaaast I struggled with focus.... (actually I'd left the bloody lens on manual having removed the prime) Bring back open face helmets so I can see the smiles Pictures like this keep me happy One of many sorted Thinks - now what was next....... Bloody hell that Capri has a 40 a day habit and then some (either that or bleach drips) A little later I took a few shots from closer Takes a while to clear - we lost a couple of mins every time he ran - don't care a bit the Hill Climbers were utterly brilliant and so well behaved and nothing like a herd of cats - give yourself a pat on the back all of you Well except AB car pix - what's a red light mean fella? oh and I just spotted I snapped spittyhollyOops lost track again Anyone who knows me knows I'm not a Ford Fan - I have an Opel Blitz running thro me like a stick of rock but I cannot but admire a well sorted scort especially when they are being pedalled by people who know what they are doing dfms911 Another smiling happy face - possibly..... MarkAt last that's what I wanted to see great big grins - I have a happy customer More soon

OK back on track I may like this car more than I should or even that is healthy I had a grandstand seat for a spin session Certainly clears out unwanted ear wax Anyway "moving" on BiASGreat Paint - b-cos Racer Jody (another RRG team member) in alexcrosse dad's Escort - See open face helmets are the thing I need to make compulsory for the Hill Much as I like hot hatches - I like them in eighties flavour - this is why selling in the day doesn't work from a spectator point of view DezSo moving swiftly on - I had to chuckle - stripped out interior then I looked in the back and we both had a laugh what would make me laugh about the back of a stripped out track car I guess in something stripped out you need some banging bass to get above the rattles Anyway we had a few of these - not too many (I hope) but I have to say all of the MX5 crews from the many clubs they represent were an absolute please to deal with in terms of pre-booking and when I thought I had enough they had no problems with being placed on a reserve list so as slots became available as a few dropped out they paid promptly and made my life simple. horney™ please pass on my thanks Some more smiles "Running in please pass" - the conversation later on was how was the running in going was "dash lit up like a xmas tree so I kept my foot in" Either a smile or a "he can poke that somewhere else" look - I'm going with smile I'm not allowed to let these live in my house I let this one go - it looks an absolute barrel of laughs to drive The "Third Man" in the paddock team - Bill - if you wonder why we have three to run the paddock it's because there are two ladies in the hut and strength in numbers is all we have to work with gewy - don't you dare show Gillian this thread It's a nice little midget running Kettle Series on throttle bodies 8 year project finished for the Gathering Diff looks a little loose Chevron B25 running sans exhaust you could hear it get all the way to the top but I think that was the same for Brad's Blue monster Last one for a bit - once you got the guest cars going they all got a bit keen!!!! See Pikatours from the Paddock - must have been an easy job

Such a good show. Even the brief showers didn't matter and did nothing to ''dampen'' spirits. (You see what I did there? ) Anyway, was good to see some familiar faces, along with a few new ones, plus an eclectic mix of great cars. See you all next year?

I was actually OK with a damp ish start - kept people cautious on the hill Anyway, was good to see some familiar faces, along with a few new ones, plus an eclectic mix of great cars. See you all next year? Diversity by the bucket load - as always for RRG - Do it again - Hell Yes - I do hope so.......

Love that shot of mine in the paddock the silver MX5 with yellow roll bar I think there may well be another shot of yours in my bucket - not 100% sure I'l try next year to have a proper retro to take up the hill MX5's generated quite a bit of conversation during the weekend - the summary was "they are built in the tradition/ethos of a british 2 seater sports car with WWD and a good fun power to weight ratio - not too much power - just enough to be fun (well till horney™ and most of you get hold of them - supercharging and turbo charging the nadds out of them) Shame Britain couldn't make one as good as the Japanese can..... So they definitely fall into the retro camp...... gewy bought one as a stop gap when his 944 had an issue and he's still got it (as well as the 944 - His wife Gillian - works with Tash in the sign on Hut absolutely loves it - probably not quite as much as her truck but it must be a close run thing it was the nappy brown one parked in the paddock all day - well apart from when their son Thomas stole it for a quick blat up the hill) Evidence in my bucket When Mrs BC came round to the idea of a two seater car for daily usage - I bought an old SLK R170 for two reason 1. cos it already had a charger under the bonnet 2. it had a hard roof (don't live in the nicest area unfortunately and a soft top is a magnet for low lifes) But the MX5 was still under consideration..... In hindsight - at least I'd have accepted any rust issues on an MX5 - I didn't expect the SLK to fizz just as well!!!

Although I do hope I have some better tyres for next year!

Does anyone know who was using the garages as somewhere to skateboard during this? I was super jealous, being a bit tall I hit my head just walking through, let alone with a skateboard underneath.

not too much power - just enough to be fun (well till horney™ and most of you get hold of them - supercharging and turbo charging the nadds out of them) It's a horrid affliction and one which will ruin me mentally and financially.

That was a couple of the guys (and girl) with us, unfortunately my coordination doesn't even nearly meet the requirements for anything like that so I was sheltering under an awning!

Great to catch up briefly BC, and also mightily impressed that you were chilled enough and had sufficient time to be taking photos
