I managed to get a nice aged Mk1 Px chrome horncast for this. It's off another scoot I've bought but it's on the Isle Of White so got to wait for this nonsense to calm before I can go and get it, here's a sneak peak.

Extended forks painted with a couple of chrome tubes to cover the extensions. Then slotted them in for a quick mock up

Decided to change the colour of the hubs after buying the wrong colour to repaint the front hub back plate. Vauxhall pearl colour over a black base.

Do you have any idea how much a t5 engine is worth. I have been offered one but i thought it was expensive but there again I'm not sure of its worth.

The style is commonly called a Bonedown in the North, literally anything not needed taken off, very much in the same vein as Hot Rod. I'm a bit late to this thread so apologies for digging up an old post...
Dahn London way we called these skeleton scooters.
Love the work you're doing.
Here is a picture of my '80 P200E. It's been sat languishing under cover in the garage for the last few years

Surprising that 3 different area's of the country have 3 completely different names for the same style

I've made a little progress on the Lammy over the last couple of weekends.

Depends what spec and condition it's in? How much they offer it to you? Standard unmessed with out of a running scooter a couple of years ago, head removed and I can't see any wear or marks on the bore £750 is the asking price. I have fitted a kit to my 70th anniversary px and it tried to seize on me so instead of mucking about with kits I thought the t5 engine would be good in it. I've got a 200 engine in my other px but it's a pre auto lube one and I thought it would be to much hastle to blank off the oil tank

Presently on the Isle of Wight and scooters are every where been fantastic looking at them all, some real old boys about with some very old machinery reminds me of the bikes in quadraphenia! There is a big rally on tomorrow in cowes that I’m hoping to get along too

[quote author=" swampy76" source="/post/2694874/thread" some real old boys about with some very old machinery reminds me of the bikes in quadraphenia! [/quote] This is the problem with the scooter scene today. Too many people associate it with "that" film and expecting that we all look and ride scooters like the one in the film!!

Very true, the story was supposed to be based in the mid 60's, this picture was taken 1968 (IIRC) and is pretty representative of scooters and our dress at the time at least around my way.

Iyll never get bored of seeing those pics. I've come full circle again, I re read the book that started this build (Time, Trouble and Money) and I'm going back to an early full bodied "Northern Scooterboy" style. Full panel work, nice paint and Signwriting.
