Had this thread bookmarked and just read from start to finish again!
Lovely car, I remember when these were everywhere and I was having fun with them in either my Nova GSI or 205 GTI!
Cant believe how rare they have become, just looked on HowManyleft and only 34 taxed Q3 of 2018, 21 of Q4.
Looks great in white, really suits the kit and the wheels.

Thanks mate, they are very rare in GSi guise, oddly enough rarer than Nova GSi's. Lowered on 16's has always been the look I've loved, first show of the year on Sunday.

Best wheel for both gsi's
I sold my gsi then got the 205 gti. There was a perfect gsi for sale at crail raceway on a sunday i went up, clean, lowered, alessios.. perfect. Didnt end up buying it as i had the 205 and that escort in my profile pic. Wish i had, would probably still have it 😥
Get plenty of pics of it at the show, definitely gets more love than you realise. 90s to a tee 👍

Excuse my ignorance but WTF is a Nova? I see them mentioned here all the time but have never seen one. I am sure it is not a Chevy Nova.

Sorry mate, didn't take a single picture all day for some reason, there were some lovely Nova's on the stand though. White E plate one? Lee I think his name is? Did the clutch and box on my Astra. Yep, it was Lee and hes from up your way, North Wales? Between his and mine, that is 2 of the 6 on the road accounted for ! lol Always nice to have a rare car

Should really update this properly... Due to everything going on and the lack of shows, this has had virtually zero use this year, at no point have I just been for a drive in it which is frustrating but I have tried to turn the lack of use in to getting some jobs done. So far this year I've: 1. Had a full exhaust system built from the manifold back removing the terrible join that was on the manifold, this includes a performance CAT. 2. Fitted my short shifter which has dramatically improved the feel of the selector. 3. Re jigged the wiring loom so it is a bit tidier with less on show. 4. Had the inlet and camcover powder coated (sadly the cam cover was damaged when I went to fit it so a replacement is being done in the next few weeks). 5. Full service which has improved things, was well overdue tbh. I'm having fun and games with speedo cables at the moment, the fun thing about this car is that if the speedo cable isn't present, the car cuts out when the revs drop, not the easiest things to be fitting either, original one is not available so picked up a pattern part which ended up being very noisy. Tracked down an original which I fitted yesterday but obviously not run it correctly as the speedo has stopped working again, hoping to resolve this ASAP. A couple of recent pictures:
