Richard Woolmer has been to the Gathering before with his fire breathing Austin A35 I believe

DSC_2543 by dbizzle_, on Flickr I am famous! The two idiots in the background with the silly hats are My good self and my oldest pal Mr E. We have been every year so far and have just got to grips with the dress code. Arctic +. It is always absolutely freezing. 12degrees? My ! This is an absolute must for any gear head, getting busy now but the quality of the cars - the racing and the variety more than make up for it. Always run into somebody interesting. This year it was an old university pal that quite happily told me that he had just bought a Mclaren M12 and had replaced the body with an M6 so it was more competitive in Hill Climbing.... He also has a Bugatti type 35 and a D type.... Now I remember why he is an old friend....Grrrr... Pictures are tops Mr D. P.

Richard Woolmer has been to the Gathering before with his fire breathing Austin A35 I believe If you can find it, his qualifying laps on the Saturday morning on a wet track are well worth watching, I was down near St Mary's / Lavant corners and I don't think the front wheels ever pointed the same way as the direction the track went...

I was there too, do you mind if I add my photos too. 3rd time I've been to the MM; it's probably the best Goodwood event now.

awesome pictures. thanks for sharing again i don't know why, but for me gerry marshal cup just makes MM for me. i guess the same reason i prefered saloon car racing to world stage stuff, bit more grass roots, bit more relateable. swift doing his david and Goliath mini thing is almost one of the highlights of the weekend too !

Great pictures from everybody, I keep coming back to this F40LM, got me thinking about modding mine (except it's made of Lego).

Room for a little one? Is it too late for me to join in? Since Mrs Luckyseven is now a member and all, it seemed rude not to biff along to Lord March's spring beano. How the other half live, y'know. For anyone who finds themselves debarred from such events by issues arising from class, breeding or poverty yet wishes to aspire to such lofty heights of toffery, get in quick for some of the pleb tickets. It's like the Revival but you actually have room to move! Awesome transporter. Belongs in the Pistonheads "this picture makes my teeth itch" thread. Look at that decal spacing. Fiat by Ford? Not every day you get to see the internal workings of a poorly Bugatti Brescia being stripped down in a gravel and water-strewn car park Most people erroneously call it Bugatti's "horse-shoe" grille/radiator. It's wrong, y'know. Ettore Bugatti's old man was a chippy to the great and good... alright, an Art Nouveau jewelry and furniture artisan. The inspiration for the radiator came from the shape of the chair-backs that Carlo Bugatti used to design. So now you know Apparently the oldest known Alfa-Romeo. Pressing on In fact, I already love the big Edwardian and tween-War behemoths for the extraordinary engineering on show and the sheer variety of answers to the same question ("What's fastest?"). But now I love them even more cos it gave me a chance to practice my panning, at which I'm really bad, on something moving at a slow enough speed for me to have a fighting chance. Sometimes Oldest thing there. Full stop. 1903 Mercedes. Preposterous Brasier featured engine from a Hispano-Suiza-powered airship. As you do. Need a lot of car to go around so much engine! Mors looked evil enough to kill you and eat you The Beast of Turin. You wouldn't want it running over your foot Car park, as usual with GRRC events, is as cool as any show Utterly beautiful Sebring The racing involving Fezzas vs Mustangs vs Cobras vs Bizzarinis vs Astons et all was hilarious and brilliant. Not just for the spectacle of seeing Tarquins and double-barrelled Fitzs biffing around in priceless unobtanium, but also for the amusement value of relatively humble Ford pushrod carthorse lumps absolutely monstering thoroughbred racehorse-spec Ferrari V12s Sponsorship fail! Spot the deliberate (?) mistake!

Member's Market was amazing. Mostly for the lightbulbs, to be honest Great Hall offered superb ambience, if not totally amazing menu. Just like being at school. If I'd gone to Hogwarts instead of a modern concrete Comp. Alright, it was modern then. Mrs L7 in reflective mood. Been a while since I had to care about collecting House Points. Which we didn't... somehow Mrs L7 just didn't fancy the tug-of war, oddly. Or the rugby. We were in Darnley House. Which... errrrm... came last. Spring winds gave the scoreboard wallahs a tough time all day Hard not to end up with loads of photos of daffodils, to be honest Hmmm... Big Delage was winningest (again) and rightly so... looked so much more like a together racing car than some of the preposterous and ill-conceived monsters around it More French classic Blue And English Green Fafnir. Just bonkers. I like how they not only provide fire pits to give some respite from the biting wind, but clearly have a sense of humour about it too ....even extends to the bins No front brakes, weighs more than a small block of flats. Yeah, better lean on that handle hardBonhams was unfortunately closed to us plebs on the Sunday, catalogue only, but one of their lots parked outside gave me massive amounts of want. Used to have a 1/32nd scale Kleines Kettenkraftrad but never thought I could afford a real one. I mean, who wouldn't want to pop to the shops for a pint of milk on their genuine WWII half-track motorcycle!? Lest we forget...Hail Surtees Listers were a bit faster and therefore my panning was proportionately shitter than the Edwardians! Whisper it, but the Yank v8s made a better noise than the Jag-engined ones Solitary coupe was gorgeous, double-bubble roof and all Mobile cinema rocks afro Stangs! Lots of Stangs Mustang bites men! Lots of a different flavour of legendary Ford, too Talbots, Kept France in the GP game for years (when the Alfas didn't show up) but looked quite ungainly whilst doing it. Oooooh, look, independent front suspension! Thunderbug. Hilarious. Especially when you check out the seating/transmission interface Decals? pah! MEN use dulux There really were a lot of Bugattis. Usually with some form of sensitive bladder syndrome Not a Cobra. Cooler than that Awwwww,,, Car park spot of the day. Reliving my old 70s Sweeney fantasies... Masers wheel to wheel. Actually, one might be an Alfa A Rochdale Olympic? On track? Mixing with endless Spridgets? Oh yes SCAT meant something else back then... Studebaker Lark Daytona? what's on of thems, then? This won Indianapolis. Yep, honestly END Album Link; s668.photobucket.com/user/Nik_da_Greek/slideshow/75th%20Members%20Meeting?sort=9
