DAF/VOLVO 66 'Dutchie'

Hello everyone!

I'm Roy, 21 years old. Living in Belgium.
Some people now me from my daily ride, My Audi 90.



A time ago, i was searching for a project car, since my Audi was almost done.
First i was searching after an elder Mercedes, like a 190 or a w124 but the prices that people ask for cars like these are kinda crazy for cars with high miles and/or a lot of work. I was also interested in little cars, because you can do a lot of styles with these and parts are most likely easy to find and cheap.

After a time i found this Volvo 66, not expensive, with some work but not really rusty! And i bought it!

DAF marathon grill with extra lights
turnsignals in bumper
lowered!
removed the ugly modern radio!
& SOLVED a lot of problems














Ordered a GOLF 1 GTI frontspoiler & will mount it next week!

I like the audi as well, there was a very similar car at Essen Classica a few weeks ago!

Those chrome bumpers look so much better.
Some black '70's sport stripes might help accentuate orange character properly.

High on sides like original or down at bumper level. I'd be tempted to add a silver or white pinstripe as well for more contrast & matching the grill.
Black bonnet & driving lights optional.

That is awesome. Audi 90's were never common, my dad had one when I was a kid, but the Daf's/Volvos were quite common in Sweden at least.

Can't say when I saw either on the road tbh..

In tune with the others, keep the orange, it's fab.

I Love you new car mate.
Daf's have been a big part of my youth and early driving years.
Mum's first car was a Daf 32 (Daffodil??) followed by a 33, 44 and 46.
I had a Volvo 66 x2.
Great cars. Easy to drive and comfortable as well.

Jagermeister is an idea, but my mate has a NSU 1200TT in that style. I don't want to copy him

dasleg Thanks! The Audi is an 2.2 and the DAF an 1.1 half the size, same fun!

daibrace welded orignal steel wheels with 165/55/14 at the front & 185/55/14;

It needs a repaint because it has rust on different places and a lot of dents.
I was planned to paint it in red with black sportstripes and an white enginebay
Something like this but more in vintage-racer style like i like more.

I'm liking both of your cars. A bit left field and all the better for it. Nothing quite sounds like a Daf. Who couldn't like a car that goes as fast in reverse as going forwards. Oh and another vote for orange and black stripes.

Another vote to stay orange.

I recon painting the stainless steel bumpers black, putting some rectangular front indicators and a pair of vitaloni california mirros would finish the look.

That's a 55, which was a bit quicker than a 44.

Man , that's one nice ride ! There was one on here , with a Renault 5 alpine engine. Was also orange if I can recall myself right. Use the search function on this board , you'll find it. ( does not work on my curse word phone 😬)
