There's a little thing about my Ram that drives me insane.
The central locking thingie.
Press the button once, driver's door unlocks. Press it twice, other doors unlock. That's okay. Get in and drive and the doors lock themselves. That's okay too. Open the driver's door from the inside and no other door will unlock. You always have to press the button and it's super annoying. If I were to construct a system like that, all the doors would unlock as soon as one would be opened! It drives me mad as a I usually put my stuff for work in the backseat and always end up pulling on the locked door...

Magnets. They are not magnets. What is the magnet reference? Why did they make the lights look like magnets? It irritates me every time I see it.

Magnets! I won't be able to un-see that now! On the subject of rear lights - odd ones. By that I mean fog light one side and reverse light other: Although it does offer the discerning modifier the option to buy a LHD cluster and make them match. Golf mk5 is another culprit for this crime.

Side repeaters: If you're going to relocate them to the door mirrors as part of a mid-life face lift, don't just fit a fake chrome fake vent in the hole where they used to live and hope nobody will notice!!! VW column stalks: Trying to flash your lights while driving, but not pull the lever too far and toggle them on? Impossible! Same on the other side, try and give the back screen a single wipe and not trigger a loving spoonful of screen wash and the accompanying 3 or 4 wipes. Impossible! Rear ash trays: Why fit just one on one side? Fit a symmetrical two or none. I'm thinking of the mk2 Golf here but I seem to remember it being common in the 80s.

2010-2017 Nissan Micra boomerang swage lines on the roof... WHY, it looks so s**t! I noticed this for the first time a few months ago with a neighbours car looking out of our bedroom window it looked like it had been in an accident!

City mode on the power steering on Fiats. Why? The standard steering is light enough, and being a Fiat and an electrical system it will fail 23 minutes once the warranty expires. The Focus MKI dashboard. Its a clash of intersecting lines that looks live Salvador Dali had tried to copy a Mondrian painting. Sorry, I love the city steering mode. being able to negotiate muiti-story car parks with one finger is great. Bit disconcerting if you forget to turn it off on the road though.

fake tail pipe is a good one greensprout, and its reminded me of one i hate.... fake rear diffusers. admittedly this clio one does look functional, even though it isnt because its 2 foot off the ground but its a detail i've seen creeping into allot of moderns, the hint of a few strakes here and there. i even noticed them my dads X1 after he ripped the rear skirt off on a high kerb (googled picture)

That X1 demonstrates another pet hate - fake plastic bash plates and underbody protection on faux by fours.
Non functional wing vents also uspet the engineer in me, and its becoming very common.
Car brands with a family face or grille. Not so bad on cheapo stuff like Kias, but if I had an Audi A8 I'm pretty sure people could see its not an A1, and it rarely scales up/down properly and looks contrived.
Rust on cars from the last 2 decades. Almost always due to simple laziness and neglect.
So much anger.

I might get some hate for this, but see that slab on the front of the Focus RS grille? Aye... naw. Away back to the drawing board and have a good hard think about what was missed there.

I don't mind the VW group indiators and wiper stalk operation , ive kinda got used to it over the years,. the one that winds me up are vauxhalls where the stalk doesn't stay up or down, and if you're not used to it you are constantly trying to get them to cancel, and they just stay on.

I know its another modern car thing but door handles.... why oh why aren't they the same on all the doors?! The fronts are randomly placed in the middle of the door and not integrated, the rears hidden to a degree. There are loads like this now, I just don't like it. The alfa isn't so bad but the honda is 'orrible. I much prefer them when they are integrated into the swage line. My dad has one of those civics, albeit in estate form. The rear door has a weird bit of concave surfacing, between the arch "flare" and the window, that in certain lights makes it look like the door has a great big dent in it.

Have a look for a technical manual - my Suby did all sorts of annoying things like this when I got it but obtaining a technical manual of the alarm system revealed a bunch of cheat codes (keyed in a bit like in a console game) that allowed me to turn off all the annoying ones.

Our Discovery does this, don't mind the double press to unlock but the only unlocking the drivers door is a pain. To turn it off it needs to be coded, didn't do it when we first had it but then had a door lock replaced and the garage obviously changed the settings.

Have to use a Citroen Saxo for reference here but it's common to a lot of small 2 door cars, this body line: That's just so flipping lazy for crying out loud. There are so many other ways they could've designed that door shut area to not have that step in it.. even if they just ran a crease line along the top of the rear window at the same height as the door top and blend it in as it reaches the down curve it'd look 100% better.
