Those who have tuned their own efi projects will understand just ... how frustrating it can be until you learn what needs to be done. This very much rang true with me. I've tried tweaking a few things and made things worse, so currently worked a way to put up with the foibles so I can enjoy the car. I really need to get stuck into educating myself You've created a lovely thing!

Thanks for the link, great build thread, can't be many get the same car back after 12 years. The original colour looks to be the same light metallic blue that my 1300 was ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png)

What a rotten little thing it was. And slow. And prone to refusal to proceed…. or suddenly facing the wrong way….. this last may have been mainly indicative of driver enthusiasm exceeding talent.

vitesseefi My experience with the X1-9 was somewhat different, mine had a Lumenition electronic ignition system, never had a FTP in over 5 years, even when I burnt a valve out on a touring holiday up in the Highlands it got me through the last 4 days and then home) I wouldn't have called it slow, nor for a 1300 and I never ended up facing the wrong way despite pushing it hard. I put the handling a close second the the MK1 MR2 I have now. However I'd agree on the rust side of things ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png)

There’s no doubt that mine was a terrible example. Never send your mates to “look it over” just because you’ve had to work the weekend is the moral of that story. I’ll not spam up Alex’s thread with the extended tales of woe relating to it.
Suffice to say that I’m able to appreciate them (after 30 odd years of healing!) and I did at least make a paper profit on it (if my labour was free). Also sold the most easily of any car I’ve sold… though I did live a couple of weeks in fear of the disgruntled purchaser bring it back 😀

One mate from oldschool forum did this for me. .. I presume with the help of uncle Ai. Really cool. And another mate very kindly produced this for me. Super cool... ![](https://img.retro-rides.org/i/v/yoeddynz/92170d497045.jpg) I'm still not sure what badges or stickers I might add in the future. That's a nice fun little job to look forward to once I've ironed out all the other bits that need tinkering.
