I like the chili option. Cost effective and easily made in advance. I have a killer beer and chocolate infused beef chili recipe (sorry people who are following purely for food teasing).
As for layout, kind of both. I'm going to have my home kitchen hygiene certified, do lots of prep and cooking there, then do assembly and some cooking in the van. This maximises space, speed and costs of equipment. I'll be taking orders from the side, serving out of the back, using the back doors as a sort of barrier to separate the people who have paid from the ones who have not and to display menus. I would draw this to make sense of it all, but unfortunately my artistic talents don't go much further than biologically accurate penises on windscreens and important documents.

Don't suppose you'd be willing to share - via PM of course. I'm unlikely to be a competitor, but I do love a good chilli. Love the ideas, love the van (always preferred them to Transits) so bookmarked.

Howdy, long time no see. Weather has been pretty dire and in amongst working and life and rain, time has been limited. However, I have picked up even more parts! Pallets, for the steps up to the van window too. I managed to find an entire drivers step assembly, front arches, a fibreglass bonnet, and my fibreglass rear valance corners from Australia have arrived. I also lost patience with walking into the wing which was hanging off, so chopped them both off and banished them to the pile-o-curse word. treated with rust eater , rinsed, wire brushed, and painted the insides. The inner arches were Swiss cheese! Far from the most professional job, but once I've attacked the arches, all of the seams will be nicely sealed up from both sides and will stop further rot, which is the end goal here. We're aiming for functional repairs, not original spec. Should probably get my tetanus shot topped up...

Loving this thread, for the progress on the van and the wonderful food ideas too! I like the electric blue colour And the food ideas all sound great so far. The cook before ones like chilli and pulled pork are great especially as they are multi purpose. The veggie options are sounding awesome too! Also I'm not sure about the others commenting, but I've never had pork burgers before and they sound brilliant! On the subject of pork, perhaps some kind oof scotch egg type affair? As you were

Jeez that is one hell of a rusty CF! Brave fella Loving your drive and enthusiasm though mate, it will be great once it's done. Never heard of that paint, I will have to look it up, seems a good alternative to the badly rollered cheap house gloss I usually use

Hello. It's been a while. In fact, too long. I lost motivation for the van and gave up for a while. Work has been tough, I've been missing bills and just barely getting by, and with the schedule and overtime I've been working, along with various cars I've since acquired by accident, and driving a very very rusty j reg proton over 2600 miles on a hilarious trip to wörthersee in Austria, the van has taken a back seat. The Proton will have a thread soon! No progress has been made really, its been sat there, and seeing the brambles growing over the old SPAM FROM by the fence upsets me, so I've taken a large step, quit my job, and started somewhere else doing something totally different. It's twice the money, twice the hours, but it's much more convenient as I no longer work weekends or nights. More importantly, it's something I enjoy. I will be working for a company called Autobrite Direct. So this week I started trying to motivate myself, and I have made something I have been wanting to try for ages and want to use and sell in the van. Sourdough bread. Sounds pretty basic, but every loaf is usually the result of almost 24 hours of work. Some shops charge upwards of £8 for a loaf! I have been nurturing a culture which was started in 1980, and have now learned after a few flops that this is the right bread for Succulent van. I start the new job on Friday, and I will have to wait few weeks of hard grafting to get into the swing of things, but this will be a fresh start. Enjoy this big crusty photo of the finished item. More food and Bedford updates to come soon. Peace.

It was only last night I searched for this build (and failed to find it) and now there's an update! Glad everything's good and progress is about to resume.

Good news on the lifestyle change, it makes a big difference having evenings and weekends to play.
Are you moving up to Stoke or do they have branches down South?

Hi My son just googled our old CF's registration and boom we have found our old family camper! Lovely to see you are restoring and yes we did know it was in a bad way (for a sad family reason) We think you maybe the second owner after we sold it in about 2015? The person we sold to was going to restore and keep in touch as he said we could possible that we might be able to hire it from him for old times sake! Looks like that is not going to happen sadly, but as said good luck with the project, it certainly took us on some very memorable family adventures!
