Although not retro, I have a Clio 172 cup converted kangoo van for a fun run about/parts hauler while my mk2 golf is off the road. I've been toying with trying to have some fun with the look of it, but can't really decide what to do, I had looked at vinyl designs, not seen too many I fancy, and don't want to go for something massively complicated to keep the costs reasonable.... I had also toyed with the idea of the rust look paint, but I'm completely stumped... Looks wise at the moment it's lowered, had Clio sport wheels and a side exit exhaust Just thought I'd see what others thought... Or just keep it as is... I'm soon to start a low boost turbo conversion on it, so keeping with the sleeper theme would be a good direction...

firm believer in the k.i.s.s and f.i.s.h principles.

I did think that was maybe the sensible thing to do and put the money into the golf, but going against the sensible thing seems to be something I do well... Its main saving grace is being so handy for chucking stuff into the back of, and providing fun when someone tries to push it out of the way thinking they're all it with they're new car... Something which should be even better once I'm finished fitting the turbo

I had one of those dreadful things, worst van I ever had! But, in the end I did manage to modify it in such a way that it was beneficial to me... Yep, and the insurance company said it was a write off so I got something better with the money, a 15 year old Tata with about a million miles on it!

I had one of those dreadful things, worst van I ever had! You’ve obviously never had a Fiat Doblo then! I fondly remember my kangoo (editted from autocorrect word for kangoo: manhood!!). first van I bought when I went self employed.... apart from the electrics starting to fail it was great, the passenger seat folded out of the way so you could put longer stuff in there

Well, I might be the only one but I like them for what they are. Not a pretty face but that's not the reason you buy a Kangoo. I really like the way it sits. Looks great. What I would do? Maybe some sign writing. Not sure

To be honest I'm probably being a bit harsh on it, but I hated the damn thing. I had about a two hour commute to work in the morning when I had it, and by the time I got to work I was very uncomfortable. I could never get the seat in a comfortable position for me, and I would be continuously adjusting it when I drove it. That was my biggest gripe about the thing. As a load lugger it was pretty good, and had lots of space for my tools etc. I didn't even mind how it looked, but like I said, it was the driving position that ruined it for me, I think it is still to this day the most uncomfortable thing I've ever driven.

If you want a bit of colour, there are various ways. If you drive decently (highly unlikely with 172 ponies motivating your right foot) then ask a charity shop if they want free advertising, or Meals on Wheels” Various Sleeper type liveries could work. A wrap adds cost but not value. NASCAR Truck Racing series? Alternately, my £300.00 Skip on Wheels, looks like this Thread: forum.retro-rides.org/thread/195715/grizz-prozac-soul-berlingo-new

I do like the kangoo above with the brides, it looks mega! I had considered some kind of sign writing with a funny side to i./t. In terms of comfort I've got the clio sport seats fitted to it, which make a big difference compared to the original ones! That is a good point grizz I am trying to keep a semi sensible reign on the spending with it, least the engine work can always be sold on I'll have a look through your thread, the photos you've posted don't seem to be loading

Maybe signwriting, "S. Cargo & Sons" ?
Wrap it in Gordini blue first...

You'll paint it with graffiti paint fairly cheaply.

Gordini blue is nice.... I did think graffiti paint would be a cheap way to go with it I had even considered getting someone who does graffiti to go to town on it... grizz even the photos you posted in here won't load up, I'll ping you over my number for photos! Thanks! That could be a plan Porsche that could work pretty well!
