Congrats on the first start... Sounds mega!
Wastegates aren't a straight yes/no answer, least they didn't seem to be from the hours of reading I did 🤣 (I'm not an expert on this subject btw just what I've learnt from the last 2 year of my headache)..
It depends how well the exhaust flows into them or if there just "t" off the pipe somehwhere.. also how much boost you've available Vs how much you want (massive turbo on a big engine but only wanting low boost will require more wastegate surface area than a small turbo/engine combo running high boost, as youl need to get rid of "more" to be at the right boost level)... That's probably horribly explained but makes sense in my head haha.
For reference I've got a single genuine 50mm gate on a 4litre turbo V8 with gt35 size turbo and it held 7psi rock solid with no boost creep, it also holds 12psi with no creep either.. your better having too much wastegate surface area than not enough, but not if it won't fit.
All I will say is if there eBay specials (which I was using originally) check they actually seal, and open at the proper boost level. The quality seems a bit hit and miss (mine was a miss) and it didn't seal properly from the get go..
Top stuff!

Cheers, makes perfect sense 👍 The wastegates are from ‘innovative’, And are 50mm openings I can fit one on…..if I need two, then I’m gunna have to redesign the exhaust 🤦♂️

Had to re do the exhaust, only way to fit the wastegates in a good place I'm no expert but that looks like it will work. Dare I ask where the screamer pipes are going to run? It's busy in there isn't it 😂

Been a while since I’ve updated ……been mega busy at work, And the days I did have on the car went terrible, threw a strop and didn’t touch it for a while 😂 Main problem was the brakes, the pedal wouldn’t stay firm unless you pumped up the pressure After many days of checking for leaks, bleeding the system over and over again, I read this little nugget of info “If the master cylinder is mounted lower than the disc brake calipers, some fluid flowback to the master cylinder reservoir may occur, thus creating a vacuum effect that retracts the caliper pistons into the housing. This will cause the pedal to go to the floor on the first stroke until it has “pumped up” and has moved all the pistons out against the pad again.” So I needed these little residual pressure valves…..no more having to pump up brake pressure, Nice and firm 👍💪💪 Next I Need to replace my radiator (hole in it 🤦♂️). Then nearly test drive time
