Ther is one lad I know talks such total curse word all the time we call him betty bullsh!t. He knows everything, has owned/ driven/ banger raced any car you could possibly name, and can't even keep simple things like his birthday or how many kids he has consistent.... It's funny at first but after a while you can't believe anything he says at all and it just gets annoying, which is why I'm sort of glad he's avoiding me over the £30 he promised to pay six months ago... I was at school with a bloke like that, in fact we were best mates for a long time throughout my formative years. He gradually got worse and worse until one day I told him in no uncertain terms that I, and noone else actually believed a word he said. He's not spoken to me since. But you know the best/most worrying bit? He's now a copper!!!! ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png)

I had a load of my mates thinkin i was bullshitting for years because oneof my other friends runs a glamour studio and every now an again if asked what i had done over the weekend i'd mention having gone out for a drink with one of the models, i also used to help out on photographic trips abroad, driving the girls to shoots in the hire cars helping with getting everyone sorted in the villa or playing chaperone or whatever.
Course non of em said they didnt believe me, i didnt even find out till i happened to be with my cousin one day when i popped in to say hi and there happened to be a couple of shoots going on and unclothed girls wandering about.
It was on the way home in the car when he let me know they'd all been taking the curse word for about 4 years about me "making it up about going out with glamour models"
someone wanted a looky at the jeeps rover V8 the other day, looked at the big black air cleaner box and said he didnt know it was turboed!

I used to know someone who bullsh!tted so much I don't think he knew what were lies and what weren't. His Mk2 RS2000 replica did 170mph. Audi Quattros 4WD works because they have two engines - one in the back, one in the front - he'd seen one. Range Rovers were never ever produced with V8s. I know someone now who's car is so fast the SatNav sattelite can't keep up. His hot rod isn't fibreglass - it's steel which has been fibreglassed inside and out to preserve it. I can't keep shtum with these people. They must think I'm an idiot if they think I believe them.

Lmao this brings some funny little memories. I remember we had been to see the latest fast n furious tokyo drift. There was a chap amongst us that thought he knew it all. Anyway, a few days had passed by since watching the film and he posts on a forum about how he loved the RX7 on there and how he wished he had it with a set of forged pistons on it...
Hmmmmmm a rotary with forged pistons. Would be super quick wouldn't it lmao?

When i went to see i was waiting outside after it had finished when a kid walks buy, with two girls in tow.... "Yeah, s'allright but i'd like to see them fit a Skyline engine in a Mustang" Now i suspect i could be a couple of cc's out, but last i looked a Mustang (such as the one in the film) would be like 6 litres? Skybut 2.5? Kids eh, and their crazy ideas.

but they did fit a Skyline engine in the Mustang? eh?
And from what I've read the cars which actually do the driveing arew all V8 powered with a straight six engine note added after in post production on the grounds the professional drivers said the skyline-motored 'stang was a load of poop to drive.

LOL, not suprised it was toss to drive, but yeah, they did fit one into a stang so that should have stopped the boy's argument before it began!

Right.
This story goes back 20-odd years, but I still manage to raise a chuckle every time this guy's name is mentioned.
A serial bullshitter called P*** used to hang around with us. he worked at 'The Austin' on secondment to the Testing/Prototype Division down at Gaydon (now the new Aston Martin/Jaguar/Land Rover facility, but in 1987 was Austin Rover's Proving Ground).
Every night in the pub he'd regale us with tall tales of how he's been out with Tony Pond all day in a Metro 6R4, or somesuch. Trouble was it was so hard to tell truth from fiction with him, especially when after all that expensive engineering training he didn't seem to be able to keep the 1275 in his Mini in one piece. The only lad I knew who reckoned he could skim 30 thou off a MG Metro head with a Surform (I kid you not, we saw him try, and saw the inevitable blowup a few days later).
He had a '71 Mini Clubman, and in his own mind, he was Timo Makinen. One wet night we're screaming through the back lanes by my house at Warp Factor 1 and a half, the smell of burning oil filling the car, when he leans over to me and shouts above the din "I think I have perfected the art of Left-Foot braking. Observe"
As we approached the 90 degree right-hander way too fast he stamped on the middle pedal with all the finesse of a Lansing-Bagnall driver. The scenery revolved through 180 degrees and we predictably slid off backwards into a very deep, sludge-filled ditch.
As the smoke cleared, I looked at him with my best 'WTF??' expression and his next sentence will stay with me forever.
"I think I controlled that quite well, don't you??"
Stupid fat Muggins here trudged up the road to a phone box ("Dad? Bring the van, and a towrope, there's a good chap") whilst twathead sat on the front bumper, puffing on a Bennie.
That bloke was (and still is, from all accounts) priceless.

we once convinced a chap that peanut butter was not only good for killing rust but it would actually, but the powers of alchemy, cause new metal to form. One of his mates stepped in and stopped this as we were dealing with his queries such as "smooth or chunky?"
The best bit - the guy was an engineer...

When I was pulling the B20 out of the back of the van a bloke who rents the lock up adjacent was telling me it was a Ford V6 and they were great and he was right because he used to have one. Just out of interest (I think he thought it was a V6 because we craned it out of the back of the Tranny at an angle) I asked him where he thought the second bank of cylinders was.... and he pointed to the the M41's remote change (with the shift lever sticking out). 'It's definitely a Ford V6' he says. There was a lad at the take away (actually by all accounts a very nice bloke) who reckoned he'd got 200 BHP out of a VTEC - E (e for economy) by turbocharging it (a D15 - no). And there was also my friend's mongface of a fella who wanted to know why I hadn't changed the sparkplugs on my 306 TD 'because it was quite old' ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png)

I once knew a lad who owned what was essentially a standard Nova GSi bar a set of alloys and a back box. However, it must have had some super tune from the factory as must have had his Dad's Vectra 1.8. Because after buying it, on the way back the Nova went off the clocks overtaking his Dad in the process who at the time was doing 'about a ton-60.' Needless to say the twunt wrote it off within a few weeks of owning it, rumour has it he was doing 200+ down a side street when it went out of control.

i once went to art college with some goon of a boy racer who looked and talked like the terminator. he used to boot around in a proper beaten up nova that he'd obviously had a lightish crash in, which he'd then mock panel beaten back into a sort of shape instead of buying new wings etc...
anyway he would always blurt on about how hardcore his mates cavalier was as it had a 300+hp 2.0 16v turbo red top 4x4 and so on and so on. one day his mate turned up in this beige bog stock cav, so i walked over to talk to him about this monster of a car terminators been telling us about only for him to look at his mate and say "what the f**k are you on about" to him
sort of to deflect attention terminator decides to highlight the fact that my bike is a peice of sh1t. it didnt have a windshield on it at the time, but other than that it was a mint 6000 miler.
his mate replied "yeah but your car was a peice of sh1t the day it rolled out of the factory"
