I now have the door bottom ready to weld up. Unfortunately I forgot to take any photos of what got me to this point
The front section was cut off fairly close to the bottom to try to keep distortion down. The frame edge was rough and holed in places but the metal on the adjacent part was solid so i cut the 12mm wide flange off and replaced it.
Another piece was cut for the skin repair and a return folded for the crimp. The centre piece where the swage line is was made as a separate piece and welded in. All I have to do now is weld it up and make an offering to the gods of distortion.
