I'm looking for a Duraspark/ Motorcraft ignition module and possibly a coil for a carb'd Ford Cologne 2.3 V6 of unknown origin ( Granada/ Sierra has been suggested). Not sure if they're all the same (2.3/ 2.8, carb/ injection?). Should look something like this I think:

Coil is standard Lucas DLB110 for ballasted systems, DLB105 for non-ballast (not 100% what the Granada runs but the 2.8 Scimitar uses a Duraspark and eureka wire).

Nope - Bosch dizzy is standard on the Cologne and that has the Duraspark module, no problem with fitting a Lucas coil either.

But the module in the book looks quite different? The next section has the Duraspark module depicted, but that is for OHC and injection engines.

All 2.8 scimitars were Pierburg carb, with Bosch dizzy and duraspark.

my 2.3 carb Granada ran a duraspark ignition module. ive got the bosch brown dizzy cap etc and had peirberg carb. I swapped my engine for a capri 2.8i one and just fitted the carb inlet manifold, same carb and same duraspark module. now I'm also running a suck through turbo on the car now and still using the same duraspark module.....174'000 miles and still working. i'll have a look and see if i've got a spare one . if I have you can have it for just whatever it costs to post or if your new se London I could possibly drop it off between Woolwich and gravesend

I've been hoarding parts for this: Thought I'd get a new rotor for it as well, but Bosch ones (1 234 332 317) are £135 I guess it has a built in rev limiter or something, is there perhaps a less fancy cheaper alternative when the time comes to replace the one I have? Would a Bosch GB782 type (e.g. 1 234 332 215) work or do I need the expensive rotor? I prefer to use genuine Bosch parts. Does anyone happen to have a piece of loom with the plugs that go to the dizzy and the module? The ones one the dizzies and the modules I have are not great, so if nothing is available I may replace them with something more durable.

Dizzy to module loom is available new from Scimitar specialists (it has a eureka wire inside). I’d suggest the price stated for the Bosch rotor means they don’t have any stock - I bought one recently and it was only a few pounds as expected.

Where did you get your rotor scimjim ? I have the impression Bosch has been sidelining their lesser sold parts for older cars over the last few years, the distributor caps I use for V4s (which are normally used for Citroens and the last Saabs that had a dizzy) also have become really hard to come by and very expensive if you can find any. What is a eureka wire? I'll have a look around for a loom.
