New project ?? New project ?? Are you teasing or is it already "in the pipeline" ?? (If it'll be anything like the Morris / Cosworth threads, bring it on, ππ) Nigel

I've got enough on with the escort and morris..... but have been having some musings on the project after them. Almost certainly electric powered.

I rebuilt the brake on the rear and connected the brake lever. P1060526 by jono_misfit, on Flickr It remains as innefective as it was before. Rolleyes.... I need some way of judging the remaining charge in the batteries, so bought one of these P1060527 by jono_misfit, on Flickr made a mount P1060528 by jono_misfit, on Flickr P1060529 by jono_misfit, on Flickr I still need to make a better clip to hold it in, as its meant for a 3mm panel and I've used 1.5mm. I got it out so small child unit could have a look at it IMG_8692 by jono_misfit, on Flickr she can fit.... just IMG_8696 by jono_misfit, on Flickr there may be some room to grow IMG_8697 by jono_misfit, on Flickr takes the two of us. Just IMG_8698 by jono_misfit, on Flickr IMG_8700 by jono_misfit, on Flickr IMG_8702 by jono_misfit, on Flickr IMG_8703 by jono_misfit, on Flickr customer appears to be reasonably happy with it IMG_8704 by jono_misfit, on Flickr i then took it for a trip round the village IMG_8706 by jono_misfit, on Flickr IMG_8708 by jono_misfit, on Flickr IMG_8709 by jono_misfit, on Flickr The neighbours came out for a look at it, followed by fetching various children grandchildren to get pictures taken in it. whilst i put the go pro in to film driving round .... i pressed the power off button rather than the record button, so no footage. It managed about a quarter of a mile and struggled on the steep hill i went up, so definitely needs the extra battery adding to it.

That is brilliant, The smile on your daughters face must justify all the effort you've put into it, (I'll bet her "circle of friends" will massively increase when it's finished lol,) Nigel

She does seem to quite like it so far. We'll see if it's got staying power.

My mrs single handedly keeps the craft industry in business. In some instances it comes in really handy for my projects. She has one of these, a cricut machine. Which is effectively a cnc plotter and cutter machine that does really fine detail. I downloaded a royal mail logo of the appropriate era, redrew it in CAD, tweaked it a bit, then coverted it to a PNG file, then mrs~misfit used the cricut software to covert to a machine path, and stuck some yellow vinyl to the requried mat. 20220626_170313 (1) by jono_misfit, on Flickr which you then peel off the "waste" vinyl 20220626_170925 (1) by jono_misfit, on Flickr 20220626_170928 (1) by jono_misfit, on Flickr there are a lot of small bits to pick out 20220626_171047 (1) by jono_misfit, on Flickr and you end up with this (x2) 20220626_183727 (1) by jono_misfit, on Flickr I then have "transfer film" to stick onto the vinyl, pull off the backing, then I can stick it on the van. 20220626_183801 (1) by jono_misfit, on Flickr I'll save that pain for another day.

I set a level on both sides of the van using tape, then roughly taped the vinyl in position . P1060541 by jono_misfit, on Flickr Hmmmm..... turns out...... i've made it too big for how I was going to put the stickers on cut things round and retaped P1060542 by jono_misfit, on Flickr set markers and then started applying the transfer sheet. P1060543 by jono_misfit, on Flickr test fitted again, then pulled the backing sheet P1060544 by jono_misfit, on Flickr CROWN in position P1060545 by jono_misfit, on Flickr rest of the stickers in P1060546 by jono_misfit, on Flickr Not perfect, but looks ok. P1060547 by jono_misfit, on Flickr fiting side two to be sort of symetrical P1060548 by jono_misfit, on Flickr and complete P1060549 by jono_misfit, on Flickr I bought another battery, which needed filled and charged P1060550 by jono_misfit, on Flickr fitted in parallel with one of the other batteries so still running at 24, but now with better current provisions. then some pics P1060551 by jono_misfit, on Flickr P1060552 by jono_misfit, on Flickr P1060553 by jono_misfit, on Flickr then decided to look at outside P1060554 by jono_misfit, on Flickr P1060555 by jono_misfit, on Flickr P1060556 by jono_misfit, on Flickr P1060557 by jono_misfit, on Flickr I then took it for a spin round the road. What a difference the additional battery makes! its no faster than it was, but has a lot more grunt getting there. The hills it struggled up last time, no problem what so ever now. It just charged up them with no drop off in speed. I filmed it on the gopro, so when I get enthusiastic about editting the video there will be some onboard footage. One interesting thing that happened was going over a bump hard caused the handbrake mechanism to flick on, cue handbrake turn. Hmmm.... there is an electrical acctuator for that fitted to it..... I could wire that in as an emergency brake... I should also fit the manual handbrake level back on it as getting to it is a pain otherwise.

Great result and I am never sure who is more chuffed, the kid, the dad or the audience.
Well done on all levels.

This dropped off my bookmarks and participated threads at some stage and I've been meaning to catch up on it. Great progress! It looks fantastic Your village looks quite appropriate for postman pat recreation filming haha. Just need an unrealistically tall bridge to cross!
