More part deliveries! The shocks arrived from Wish, and another set of dually rims, so that's what I need to finish the super wide set of MN wheels+dually outer. I also seem - and I've no idea how I thought this was a good idea - to have another set of dually wheels and hubs coming on Aliexpress! The replacement for the V3 radio set that arrived broken has come too. I'd managed to repair the broken steering wheel on that, and had already ordered a replacement for the board I fried, so that's three sets of WPL V3 radio gear now, plus a two channel stick set I may use. I've had a rummage through some of my own and inherited old project parts. Looks like there's four 1060 style brushed escs, but these have been spliced into two pairs -a pair of escs to one receiver plug - not really sure why that was done. There's a few more brushed escs in the stash too. I also have a pair of unfortunately quite large brushless escs but only drone type 370ish sized brushless motors. I have a plan for mounting one of these on either the km or possibly metal housing gearbox using the reduction box, just to see how they go, low torque and high revs isn't really what we're after though. Just need the trucks to get here! No movement apparent so far this week from just inside the Polish border.

markbognor the first thing to admit is that you have a problem 😁 perhaps one of your trucks should be kitted out as a mobile tyre fitter? What shocks have you gone for - I have similar (in blue) in my Banggood basket but prefer the 'titanium' colour you have gone for. In other news I have painted my RBR/C winch motor cover matt black to tone it down a bit and have fitted new working LED headlights to the front 👍

I'm not sure either of the trucks are going to look like they earn a living driving into muddy fields to replace tractor tyres - but that is a great concept for a C44 build, would look ace with a petrol engine compressor and tank on the back with some tyres ready to fit. I do have an idea that I'd like to buy one too....... Shocks are these ones, ordered on June 11th delivered on the 8th July. dl.wish.com/oQUu9Only 11mm of travel though. 60mm extended, 49mm compressed. I'm only going to be buying upgrade parts in gray/black I'm not keen on the blingy bright coloured parts. I think finding some white LEDs would be a good move for the headlights as well. I think I might have some at school I can acquire.

markbognor - cheers for the details. I am keen not to go too bling on mine too. I reckon that I will need to make up new connector roads for the rear suspension so am looking at making a complete new set using ball end link joints because all the ready made sets are for the C34 not the C44. It will be necessary in order to change the shocks over for the all metal ones. I have painted my winch motor cover and fitted it and think that it looks pretty good.

That looks smart.
Still no movement on my trucks, unless now they are in Europe they will next surface in Holland for the flight to the UK.

Oooops. Sold some slot car bits, bought some WPL. UK seller apparently, but paid to a Chinese address. Says on eBay they'll be here this week. Trucks still sat at Arrived in Mala. 2x

They are transfer cases - I'm hoping I can use the kit motor and reduction boxes on them, but I'm not really sure. I might end up having to buy some motors and reduction boxes for them, I'm probably going to have a go at fitting the brushless motors I have to them with the kit reduction box too. Those bead locks look good, be nice to not have to glue the tyres

Disaster! Both of my WPL 14500 500mAh 7.4V batteries have stopped charging. I am using a USB charger plugged into my phone charger plug. Is this because they are cheap batteries? Even so I hoped they would have lasted longer ☹️

Though it did come with 7.4v 2000mAh batteries, are the WPL batteries 7.4?

markbognor that is really kind of you 👍 My batteries have an SM 2P plug fitted so not sure they will work with the charger shown? Would the LiPro balance charger be a good investment? They are around £25 on Amazon at the moment. If I got one would it kick the Lipo batteries I have back into life or are they now dead? All of this is a bit new to me so trying to figure the various connectors and kit out. My batteries were bought from WPL and have 'WPL 14500 500mAh 7.4V' printed on them.

If you're charging 7.4v batteries to 5v then they will die off. Get a proper charger for the batteries, you won't regret it.

That charger can be set for a range of different lipo types and voltages so it might come in handy longer term. It is by no means the best but it seems to do alright - I've used it more to charge the NiMH batteries in the oval cars, and borrow a slightly fancier one to charge the race lipo in the Hot Rod. I have a couple of larger lipo's that I have fiddled back into life with it too - charging as nicads up to 3.7v then switching back to lipo but this isn't recommended - lipo batteries can make big nasty fires.

If you're charging 7.4v batteries to 5v then they will die off. Get a proper charger for the batteries, you won't regret it. It’s a balance charger. Lipo and liOn batteries have cells that are charged independently to their voltage of 3.7 not like a NiCad or NMH just being charged as one big cell to its total voltage so the usb chargers, while not ideal, do actually do the job fine.

More bits of truck. No actual trucks. Still showing as 'Arrived in Mala'. Ten days now, surely they have to pop up in Holland/Belgium for their flight to the UK soon! I really hope that I can dismantle the kit 370 motor from the reduction box and give these a try with the brushless motors I have.

Whoops, just pressed the button on a C44KM. It's coming from the Czech warehouse so should be here in a week. The race is on with the C34's! It was only £55 too after I cashed in my BG points. I have a third set of V3 radio or a 2 channel set so am good to go. The warehouse only had brown. I want to do something different on the back, or might try to extend a c34 body to suit the longer wheelbase, and just use the cab on a short chassis. I painted a set of the widened MN rims too. I think I'm going to cut the barrels off the four currently surplus dully wheels I have here to make a set of widened C34/44 rims. Will have to see how the taller tyres look on them or run the b series tyres.

markbognor great to see you adding the C44 to your line up and will be interested to see a LWB hardtop version if that is the route you go down 👍 My experience with the MN wider wheels that I got for my C44 was that they hit the bumper on either full lock or full articulation so worth mocking one up and testing it. Fingers crossed it and the C34s turn up soon 🙂

I wonder if the 500mah are not man enough for the car, my c24 are running 700mah out of the box.
