Hmmm, I don't have a spare TX RX, and no spare cash to get another one. This will have to go on hold until I get my actual car and the nitro build sorted. God knows when that will be cos I need/ want quite a bit of stuff for my real car. I thought this was going to be a nice easy build. How wrong can you get. πβΉοΈπ It sounds more like an RX issue. What hardware are you using again for RX/TX? I suspect the issues you had before may have upset the RX. I assume you have the 3 way connectors plugged in all the right way? (Donβt want to be condescending but always worth checking) It's a Flysky FS-i4. I did wonder if it was something to do with the bother I had before. Also I was wondering if I did have it wired up wrong. I'm not a complete buffoon, but could you confirm where everything is supposed to go, just to satisfy my curiosity. Cheers. π

Cheers. π Sure, itβs probably worth posting a pic of how itβs wired too, but the esc should go to usually channel 2 iirc, white or yellow wire is S, red is + and black or brown is - so make sure all the connections are made as per the diagram on the FS-i4. The servo is usually channel 1 but worst if you get them the wrong way round is your steering will throttle and your throttle will steer, so the plugs can be swapped if wrong and possibly worth swapping them to test to see if you get a motor output with the esc connected to the steering port. The battery will connect to the red and black wires on the esc and the blue and yellow are motor outputs, and your esc power switch is pre wired as stock. Make sure the esc jumpers are set correctly for lipo if thatβs what you are using and for ease of testing f/r (forward/reverse)

Cheers for that rich. I had it right apart from the ESC into the RX. I tried it in channel 2 but nothing happened, so I thought I'd try 3. BINGO!!!! Battery is about flat but we had some forward and backward movement, and steering kind of works. I think it's the servo or linkage that's causing the not steering left properly problem. Also this flysky TX is a bit pants, tbh. Anyhoo, thanks for the help. I'm sure I'll need more once this gets going again. π

Also worth checking that the trims are set central and if there is a rate control on the transmitter channels they are not set to zero.
Edit: Oops, late to the party again.

I don't mind any of the FlySky stuff to be fair, I use the i6 for my railway locos because of the throttle joystick not being a return gimbal and having throttle lock setting, and I have an FS-GT5 for the trucks and my brother has an older FS-GT2 that he gets on well with all bar a slightly dicky power switch. Anything you have any queries with just holla and we will do our best!

Indeed the RC truck king Mr. Rich helped me out A LOT with the truck build. Originally it was going to be a tipper but when we offered up the WPL body up it looked very 'right' and didn't require a huge amount of work to do. Rich extended the wheelbase, installed the new motor and steering servo. Paint is Vauxhall Burgundy Red and a bit of satin black for the arches and grille (the dremel was used to cut out the notches in the grille) The tilt is from Rich's 'stash' of course, sprayed black and burgundy. Wheel carrier also fitted. Achoo! The headboard is (I think) a step from the Land Cruiser model? Smoothed off on one side. Will have a look at making something suitable on the transfer printer. I love it! Turned out better than I expected.

I like these trucks so much better when they are "civilianised". The colours suit yours really well Corbs, they are almost exactly the same as an HO scale Opel Blitz I had a model of years ago. It looks really smart on the C34/44 tyres too. Had a look back at the Blue C34 we have here this morning. I took the winch off it when I fried the Res-V3 it was running, and fitted a three channel FlySky to keep the two speed. In a D12 related trade I got a Dumbro X6 six channel set, which seemed overkill in the single speed C34-1, so they got swapped over. I used an old Mtronics Viper Marine 10 ESC as a winch controller and refitted the RBR/C winch. That leaves all of 'my' trucks with Fly Sky GT2B radio, which ties in nicely with me picking up a 10 car memory FlySky GT3C set. So if I'm out with mine on my own I just need one transmitter. It's fairly simple to re bind them to the individual transmitters if there's more than one person playing. I've now run out of space on the toy car shelf, and there's still a B16 upstairs to be built!

Everyone's stuff looks great. Even though I've got mine running now, albeit needing a couple of tweeks, the bother I've had has put me off building another, I had my eye on a truck next, but tbh, I don't think I'm gonna bother. I'll finish the D90 then I think I'm gonna stick to my nitro stuff.

New wheel day part 2... The Defender has got Challenger style wheels now, with the V4 tyres that aren't on the Troopy.

Where on earth do you find the time to do everything, Mark? I'm struggling to find time to paint the Schanke rep and finish the paint on the D90. I still haven't investigated why the servo doesn't go left properly. I could do with being furloughed for a week. Lmao

This is it I promise. Unless WPL want to give me anything else to build. I'll stick up a separate post though.
