Since richp started this thread it has been viewed more than 2,200 times, and we know there are a few members of the ЯR community at the auction. That Youtube item by Pete C which is only 4 days old has had upwards of 7,600 viewings. I'm guessing business is pretty brisk there today. The star cars were never going to sell for peanuts, there are a few rotten / damaged vehicles there which will go for low hundreds. Looking at this auctioneers site they don't publish hammer prices for completed auctions so we'll probably never know what most sold for. Well, lets hope someone is sitting there with a pen and paper jotting things down. I can imagine there is quite a buzz there today and would think some of the values may be getting blown up a little with the hype. No need to jot everything down, it's all live now online. You just have to register on the site to watch it.

If i was closer id like to have had a look under the carmichael, experience shows how good a rrc can look from outside, but under those pretty panels........😳 Undoubtedly! But it's such a rare and valuable vehicle, if the Carmichael Commando chassis was beyond redemption a replacement could be fabricated fairly easily by adapting a period chassis, (which is all Carmichael did). Is this a bad time to say i already have a six wheel rrc?😁

Is this a bad time to say i already have a six wheel rrc?😁 Nope, I find them fascinating vehicles, you don't see them coming up for sale often and seldom in top notch condition. I don't imagine they're that practical off the estate?!

Managed to do 16k miles a year in mine for the last 5 years, I'm now at the stage where i find life hard if its not available, which it isn't at the mo because its undergoing a td5 conversion after the 300tdi cried ‘Enough!’

Who else reckons there will be another sale soon with all the cars people pulled out of buying after seeing them in person? The rusty Lancia sold for £1200, yes, 1200 for a car so rotten it had broken in half, wtf?
A few more which boggle my mind are the non running e36 m3 for 7500, after fees it will have cost more than buying a decent one the 750i Hartge, a standard 750 with wheels and bodykit according to someone on PH....6 grand Scimitar gte 900.....last year my old man bought one in identical condition (sitting for years but rock solid chassis) with keys and paperwork for 350 off ebay, nobody else wanted it!!! The rot box cortina, looks like there isn't a single rust free panel on it....2500, interior looks clean but that's about all. Porsche 928s....£9200, very interesting that they said it started with a battery booster, which means they've had a go at doing a bit more than just dusting off a few of them (and since almost none others were listed as starting a lot were probably knackered) one recently sold for 7250 on ebay and had invoices for 25k worth of work.
I thought the E type was a good deal for someone who needs spares and/or a vin for whatever reason, the engine has to be worth a few grand surely, the lack of floorpans is a little worrying tho.

The same with some of the LR forward control operational command vehicles, (which make particularly interesting camper conversions). A spacious estate like the one in this auction, how often would you ever be carrying enough kit and enough weight to justify the additional capacity and wheels?

Probably just for the additional coolness, simple as that. Can you imagine if say, for example, your friends turn up to the party in their new fancy range rover, and you roll up in a six wheeled one. You win. I'm staggered by some of the prices some of those cars got, thanks for putting them up. Even that Fulvia that probably 80% dust got £1500!

I know what you mean, from a ‘sensible’ point of view why would you bother, but I've never been accused of being sensible, and even SWOMBO buys things expecting me to be able to transport them, which proves difficult with the current p38 electronic timebomb daily! I should have said, thanks very much for the auction prices, one small point, why is there an asterisk next to the cortina crayford? Is it to highlight the fact that i still don't have one? ***sigh***

Some strong money at the hammer prices on some of those then you have to add the 20% buyers fee on top, before you can take your new toy home. The 2 door 57 Chevy wagon they slipped into the auction looked nice in the pic and at £14,640 with fees is a very cool ride. £4000 for the Lotus TC engine will help improve someones project.
