i lowered my Polo and it drove fine on the standard rims with decent sidewall on the tyres. I then swapped to 17’s and despite it looking much better it was terrible on Derbyshire roads.too many bumps and potholes. I was only doing 12 miles a day but became intolerable so put it all back to standard in the end.

finally caught up. great purchase. ref the wheels from up norf, are they genuine audi wheels? or reps? Genuines will only have the one stud pattern, loads of reps about so are pre drilled to run 5x100 and 5x112. the reps are lower quality and crack easily (had them on my Mk4 golf) even with careful driving. will have a hunt around and see what else similar looks fairly good from the Vag shed

The ride comfort difference on my golf with 205/55/16 vs 225/40/18's was negligible I guess it will up to personal interpretation Watch this cheap space. i lowered my Polo and it drove fine on the standard rims with decent sidewall on the tyres. I then swapped to 17’s and despite it looking much better it was terrible on Derbyshire roads.too many bumps and potholes. I was only doing 12 miles a day but became intolerable so put it all back to standard in the end. I suspect the Galaxy will be overall more refined if there is such a thing than a Polo, but hey.... I do t know chit. finally caught up. great purchase. ref the wheels from up norf, are they genuine audi wheels? or reps? Naaah, too much work to set right and then add new tyres....

I am interested in two 17” 8.5J Mercedes Benz alloys in Barnstaple that would need collecting there and find their way down to Rochester, Kent or nearby. Please PM if you are able to help get them here Them’s the ones.

After a bit of searching on FB, Google, Gumtree and a couple Mercedes Benz forums, I have found the wheels that I like. May not be to anyone else, or everyone else’s taste, but that’s cool too. My ride, my way and all that. Tires are Hmmmmmm....?? But will be fine for a few moments or days or miles. Wheels need a clean up and mild refurb. For the function they will be performing, ie going round and round...... Perfect. I give you my Mercedes Benz ADHARAZ Wheels 17” in staggered size. Hoping that they will fit and look the way I want them to. Seller has a Transit van and agreed to deliver them 3 miles from home at around 8.30 pm onward tonight for £100.00 or $130.00 Even with a refurb I feel that they will be what I want, at a price that works for my head. Hopefully get to them over the weekend.

Just catching up here. When I upgraded my stereo the Fords use a 1.75 DIN unit so you need the centre fascia from the VW/SEAT versions. New they are about £50 pretty rare second hand. Easy enough to swap then fitting a double din just needs the usual bits and a FORD to ISO connector lead unless you butcher the wiring.
Wheel wise i wouldn't go above 17's as the ride suffers, and bare in mind that these are relatively fat bar-stewards especially when loaded so make sure the wheels are suitable for the weight!

I can understand why you like them as they resemble an American 5 spoke wheel not sure if the name though, good choice they should look good as long as there are no fitting/turning problems.

I assume (oh please god let me be right!) you will be changing the centre caps? Nice choice. Not so popular that you'll see them everywhere either.

Nice wheels, have you checked the centre bore size? If i remember the MB wheels have a larger bore and need spigot rings so they fit the VW properly.
