Now 650ono. Its in my way. Make me an offer.
Selling on behalf of a friend (we'll call him Craig, as that is his name)... he bought this in 2016 to replace a W124. It's identical in colour scheme to mine... but much less pretty.
It's a 1992 1.8 automatic, in Smoke Silver (or, if you're blessed with the power of sight, metallic beige) over Musselgrau Sacco panels. Interior is biscuit cloth.
156k or so on the clock - I'm using it occasionally at the moment to keep everything free and working. It has been well looked after in Craig's ownership - servicing by me or a local garage. Prior to this it's got the odd receipt but nothing like FSH. MoT is valid until October 2020 and it's just had a service.
Recently it's had four new Continental tyres, rear brake calipers, discs and pads, service, and MoT until October. It's had a spot of welding under the washer bottle, previously had patches hither and thither. I've just fitted a new heater blower fan - and in the process realise that it's clearly had work before, the odd bolt has been replaced and the odd bit of trim missing or damaged. It pulls reasonably well, would benefit from a bit of tweaking, and gearbox is smooth and doesn't clunk. Craig averages around 27mpg in mixed use.
Bad points - the car is generally scruffy. It looks good from 100yds but up close the paint looks like it's been washed with a brick. In particular the bonnet has a myriad of scratches, pretty much every panel has a scuff or scratch. To add to that, some lovely person ran a key down the N/S. It's far, far from concourse, but generally solid. Bit of bubbling round the arches but nothing awful.
Particularly to note is that the wiper motor needs replacing or stripping and regreasing - it is enormously, perilously slow in operation, so I've given the screen a coat of H2Go in the meantime. I quite simply don't have time to find a dry day to pull it all to bits and regrease it. I'll happily assist a buyer in replacing the wiper motor if they bring one with them!
Interior-wise it would benefit from some new mats as they're worn, there's also a tear in the driver's seat bolster. A good deep clean would do it the world of good, at the moment its "daily clean" rather than properly clean. If I can get them out of the shed and they're not ruined by the recent wet weather, I have a spare pair of matching seats that I'll quite happily donate to the car. It's fitted with a Blaupunkt Cambridge tape deck, which I will test once I find a cassette... the electric radio aerial on the rear wing has been snapped off. In all honesty, I'd get a window-sticky aerial and blank off the hole - I've done that on mine and it works fine.
Car is located in Teesside. Currently cluttering up my yard so I'll happily relay any sensible offers. I work odd shifts so drop me a PM and see what we can arrange. I'd of course need to see DL and insurance for a test drive. Any questions, post on here and I'll do my best to answer them in a timely fashion!
