My ever faithful steed is up for sale as i have fallen for an ex! Found myself a Seat Toledo V5 in blue like my old one so unfortunately one has to go
Peugeot 406 2.0 16v
S reg 1998
125,000 miles
Will have full MOT on it
Mot history reads well, nothing exciting on it!
fully working genuine Peugeot detachable towbar and electrics
Have replaced the coilpack/front brakes/radiator/droplinks/fuel filter other bits in my ownership
velour interior - the comfiest ever!
stainless steel straight through classic mini exhaust (holes sealed up but might need fettling as it's not the prettiest job!) and generic induction kit
cd player (not one picture)
18" Team Dynamic Monza wheels with two brand new tyres, two run flats on the rear (original wheels included but all worn tyres one burst)
Inside issues - passenger window stuck closed, check strap on rear door not connected (seized), windows can be a bit slow aircon not working, heater blower temperamental and needs attention, has got damp inside after last few weeks heavy rain, large pool in the passenger side rear footwell (have solved it by cleaning all the seals and am drying it out)
Outside issues - drivers door dented, drivers rear wing dented, front passenger arch/wing damaged, rear passenger door damage, boot lid dented, bonnet has some ripples, lacquer peeling on roof and boot and other places.
Mechanical issues - 3rd gear has a slight crunch if changing quickly, slight weep on a radiator pipe t piece (radiator has a stupid connection so sourcing a new pipe was impossible had to concoct my own solution), i think it will need a clutch in the next 5-10k (slight slippage occasionally when towing the caravan recently but i think the caravan was at it's upper weight limit...)
So i acquired this old barge from eBay several years ago (2015) to replace my crashed Octavia RS as my work vehicle. It has served me near on faultlessly over 20,000 miles or so, never needing much work at all, just consumables really. It's towed large and small trailers, various Ax's and Saxo's on my towing dolly and my 2 berth caravan more recently. All without complaint or problem. It's travelled the length and breadth of the country in comfort and economically.
I've described it as honestly as possible, there's no point pulling the wool over anyone's eyes, it is what it is. Cosmetically challenged but not too rough, with a heart of gold. Great comfy barge for towing or whatever.
Located in Sidcup, South East London/North West Kent close to the A2/Dartford crossing (free crossing included in purchase!) £399 or near offers, try me I don't bite (will be available early Jan after MOT 6th onward)
