Good work and yes, I'll bet you were glad that tank had been cleaned properly! I like Peach, she has an underlying look of menace about her! Welcome to the world of animal rescue <WARNING> it can become addictive/overwhelming! World domination in mind. In non- automotive related news I also wanted to introduce our new cat, Peach. Always important to remember we are not one dimensional. Yes, animals are 100% addictive. I miss my Harley and often still look out for her wherever I am working or moving in the house. I want another, rescue again, but my rule is that they need to come here of their own volition, in which case, game on. Progress on the Cortez continues to make me grin madly. Well done team.

Until next time friends! Stay safe! (This is apparently the new way of saying goodbye) Andy & L I may be inviting a smack in the teeth from your young lady, or you.... But this pic instantly reminded me of one of my favourite pieces of music and artists. Have a good day and continue to bring us your updates.

I sometimes think she's looking at me with a plan to kill me but most of the time she just sleeps. We think she has had such a such a rough life that the opportunity to just sleep on a comfortable settee and feel safe is something shes just not had before, or for at least a long time. We were going to rescue a different cat, we help feed a small group of strays on a weekend and there is (now was) a young ginger cat who was so friendly yet terrified of everything - their houses are literally 15ft away from a trainline and he never strayed far. Our decision was helped by someone L knew who fostered cats, she said she'd take in the ginger cat to make sure he was well and healthy. At the same time we thought we'd missed Peach. Anyway, weeks later if was found that the ginger cat wasn't really settling in to an indoor lifestyle and was a bit roudy with other cats - Our other cat is soft as a brush and often loses fights to his own tail. Therefore the stray ginger was adopted to a family who own a farm, this would give him lots of outdoor space with the security of a family looking after him and we refound Peach in a different shelter some 20 miles from where we originally found her. grizz I am sorry about Harley. It's amazing how much an animal can become part of you, having never really had this level of attachment opportunity as a kid me and L now often joke about how we would protect our animals against anything and anyone. That is a great way of looking at it and its how we almost ended up with the ginger cat (who I named Goose - apparently I can't give a cat a normal name, another stray we once met I name Munch... Help me!) he was so friendly when he'd got to know us.

We had another good weekend on the Cortez, we're both now knackered and achy! We've removed the underseal off yet more panels and finally removed the last roof mounted AC unit - one of two. The AC unit was bolted to the roof, though four bolts were missing. The four that were in use had rusted so much that three sheared and one rounded off... Great! The stubs are now currently soaking in PB Blaster so that I can hopefully get them out at a later date! The unit itself was then glued to the roof - With bathroom sealant! WHY?! Who knows but with a blade under it and a considerable amount of swearing and lifting it came up... To reveal this mess L went full attack with an abrasive wheel. She was very authoritative and told me SHE WAS DOING IT, I quickly retreated inside the motorhome and started on another panel. She did a great job and it now looks like this. We're still going to need to cut out some of the original metal but all in all it came out well. The AC unit is going to be refurbished and reinstalled at a later date once the roof is repaired and resealed. With the unit off the roof we can finally get the Cortez undercover. L's family, who are allowing us to work on their farm had previously told us we could keep the Cortez under cover in one of the old chicken houses, but we couldn't fit it in... Now we can which is great news! Also now the Cortez is a running shell we've gained some excellent rear ride height - The 5.9 V8 is still weighing down the front but we have a plan in mind to lift the front. We would LOVE to be able to keep the rear ride height but with everything in. New shocks and springs?? That it for now. I'd best get back to work. My breakfast of coffee and a doughnut didn't touch the sides this morning! Have a great day! Molly & Skye - molly doing her impression of a dead cat, lol.
And Molly's brother Charlie - the most handsome cat in the world
PS,
I normally hate video blogs, but I enjoy yours and I think (?) I've subscribed, so well done for the good editing to keep it interesting/funny.

They certainly are - nice pictures Elsie my garage companion (a fan of all things RR although she never could understand the "tap with a stick" thing) of 14 years passed away last year I was gutted that cancer took her so quickly "All the internets are mine" Stanley (Elsies brother) and is still with us is the local "thug" and does like to ensure the neighbourhood is free from small rodents and the one that has to get into everything - literally everything needs inspection (bit like @grumpynorthener cat Sid) Only downside is he's never had to get used to "small people" so we need to be careful when great nieces and nephews visit - the kids learn fast to leave well alone but there are lots of tears first I normally hate video blogs, but I enjoy yours and I think (?) I've subscribed, so well done for the good editing to keep it interesting/funny. Ditto - but if you enjoyed it I'd better take a look - the only videos I watch are "Project Binky"

Thank you for being honest about the videos, I know it's a bit of a love / hate thing for alot of people but I'm really glad you're enjoying them! And thank you for subscribing! It really helps our channel grow! bstardchild I'm so sorry about Elsie! Lysander sit's on my laptop in seconds if I leave it unattended! And Stanley looks a right character! Let me know what you think of our videos, they've certainly improved since the first ones! @quatermass it certainly is now! That first photo of Boyzie is fantastic! 07lilredwagon yea that's what we were thinking! Thanks I appreciate it! @grumpynorthener Sid is lovely! He looks just like Goose, the cat we used to feed. Is this a cat's thread? <snipped> Taking it further off topic are you ever gonna make up your mind which user name to use on a permanent basis??

Is this a cat's thread? <snipped> Taking it further off topic are you ever gonna make up your mind which user name to use on a permanent basis?? Ha, it's very funny you ask that.... I've just written to HoTWire about that very thing. It's a valid question though and something that does bother me. As things stand, it depends which hardware I am using and which browser. On my laptop I'm logged in via Safari one way and Chrome via another. On my phone, I'm logged in as QM one browser, and TW as another. On my padpodscreenpod pad, as Thousand Words. On my wife's padpod pad as QM. I rarely know who I'm posting as until I've posted. The thing about the two is that I want to keep my Quatermass account as it is the oldest RR account that I still have access to (2013). My experiences with my Scimitar progress thread, which then became The Naughty Corner, which then steadily grew off topic and got totally out of hand, meant that in the end I felt the only way to kill it dead for the general good of RetroRides was to signal an ending by deleting the account that started it. Fortunately that was a new account so deleting it was an easy decision. But I didn't want to make that same mistake again with next ownership/progress thread via my QM account, so I created a new disposable account specifically for that (Thousandwords), so it could be sacrificed if the thread became another Naughty Corner. The idea was I'd post progress as TW and everything else would be QM because all I do here is browse and very occasionally comment (that division of labour is easier said than done however when you factor in multiple browsers on multiple devices). Thankfully my progress thread didn't become another Naughty Corner.... in fact I barely update that thread as I post my progress elsewhere now. So ThousandWords is largely a redundant account but for the fact it is the author account for my dormant progress thread here. So if I get around to it I will log out and back in again everywhere with one account, but that's a bit of a faff. I'm waiting to see if I hear back from hotwire about something first.

Ooo a cat thread. I never expected to be a cat lady but there you go. Two cats here - Ceilidh and Hobs. This is about as close as they ever get. Ceilidh is the supermodel and all around supervisor queen of all she surveys Hobs is as dumb as a bag of hammers but very lovable in a Labrador puppy sort of a way. Titanic Homage "Draw me like one of your french girls, Jack." and a better pic

Love those pics ^.
I'm starting to feel a bit sorry for Greavesy though. We've Naughty Cornered his thread. I think I'm mostly responsible for that (Naughty Cornering follows me wherever I go).

I get what you mean, however, I think that Greavesy and L like many of us on here, are not one dimensional, and these cats, mostly tend to enhance our lives and colour te threads. Especially when, like Sid of @grumpynorthener they start to become an integral part of what we do, and actually insist on being part of the hobby. Harley sometimes would shout at me in winter, to come indoors, and then she would sit just outside the garage or woodwork shed and, clearly bundled like a cold cat, and WAIT until I came out, at which point she would run ahead of me, shouting for me to hurry up and get out the cold. I tend to just ignore the “Naughty Corner” type comments, as they are mostly part of the camaraderie on here. Right, back to digging a hole outside.

I tend to just ignore the “Naughty Corner” type comments <snip> Regarding both comments I think it's not unusual to have a thread deviate a little - I'm not chucking stones just reminding myself that the OP shared a cat picture - they are relevant to our lives and in these current times I for one am glad that little furry friend(s) are as important to me as they are to others I remember when RR was littered with cat pictures for other reasons From here forum.retro-rides.org/thread/171684/retro-rides-modus-operandi3) If it’s not about cars, don't post it Rides is our escape into cars, a place where cars are king and nothing else can intrude. Intrusions will be met with cats.

10/10 for the video - just watched the cork floor episode
We have different attitudes to life as it reminded me of my first house which had knackered lino tiles in the kitchen glued down with road tar - utter cow to remove and the floor looked terrible after so I replaced it with new lino tiles in a chess board pattern and glued then down with road tar so the next owner when they were worn out wouldn’t miss out on the fun I had.......

jpsmit I love your cats too! @quatermass, grizz and bstardchild I am more than happy to disucss our Cortez, our cats and other aspects of life. It makes things more interesting and gives people a little more insight. I agree with what you say about animals, they're a significant part of our lives and our lives are certainly more intersting because of them! bstardchild ha ha! That is pettyness perfection and I love it! So glad you enjoyed the video! bazzateer cool! They do predominantly seem to all be on the west coast with a couple in the middle and then about 3 (known) on the east cost! Does your friend still have it?
