1923 Ford T-bucket build, with a twist.

Hello, found your forum recently and wanted to share a few pics of my in progress project build. It's not a genuine 1923 Ford, but the frame and body are based on the '23 Ford Model T as that's one of the popular choices for a T-Bucket.

My focal point is my unusual engine choice for the project:

Speedway Motors Nostalgia bare T frame

Speedway Motors standard fiberglass '23 T body

Sectioned steel '32 Ford grill shell, lo-boy '32 grill insert
Late 90's BMW 4.4L short block

Early 90's BMW 4.0 heads & cams

Late 90's Jaguar x308 4.0L Eaton M112 Supercharger, heat exchangers & injection on adapters to bolt to BMW heads

Mid 90's BMW 6 speed manual trans, E34 265mm clutch & lightweight flywheel

Mid 70's Jaguar independent rear end

Arduino based standalone EFI controller

The vehicle is still very much a work in progress, and so much more work to go. The first 80% of the project goes by relatively smooth, this is roughly 2 years worth of work here. But that final 20% of work is taking 80% of the time.

That looks like an interesting creation! Ought to be fairly fierce with the ratio of car to engine. Look forward to seeing that a bit more

That looks ace, engine looks surprisingly modest in there for a 4V head, seen similar before with a Northstar and it was too wide for the body.

I don't know anything about it, I did see the owner of it fire it up and drive it around town last week. We are all just renting our spaces in this warehouse.

Absolutely love this T. Great use of something other than an LS lump in there. The supercharger is an added bonus, and the whole setup sounds mean!

A few updates:

At the Kingman Az Route 66 Street Drags, Oct '21



The car passed it's MVD inspection and has been assigned a VIN, it's now street legal.





I've been driving it for just over a month now, focusing heavily on the EFI tuning. The VE table is getting close and it does cruise very well. I noticed on datalogs the supercharger never really went into boost, so I made a belt tensioner for the slack side of the belt and that did help a bunch. I still only see +6psi over atmosphere, but even when KPA is in vacuum the engine responded to less belt slip very positively. It's getting there, one bit at a time.
