Volvo 244-75 or Ford Taunus 2.0 -80. Cant remember. The Volvo was curse word, poor fuel economy, slow. Ford better, a bit faster, funnier, better fuel economy. The first of many Ford.

SEA330W - Ford Cortina 1.6GL
Loved it but was a bit thirsty for my shallow pockets at the time

No photos but went from a 4 door Chevette to a Mk1 Scirocco and then a B2 Audi 80 when I was 20.

1.4l of Midland fury. Great car, but as a young lad I had a nasty habit of crashing it.

No it's not that bad really at £500 per year with Elephant insurance, which is Admiral IIRC Being that it is a massive 2.3ton 4x4 I Imagine they don't expect it to be thrown around, also the fact it can prevent itself from starting even with its own key makes it quite hard to steal

When I was 20 (in 2002!!!) I had a 1982 Ford Cortina 1.6 GL in Venetian Red (I think that was the hue it was in)...
Blasting around pretending I was in CI5 (I'd yet to upgrade to a Capri!) was just an utter joy!!!!
I absolutely loved HBK 280X and I do wish I'd kept it much that same as I wish I'd kept the other Cortina I owned when I was 20 which was a 1980 1.6 L in Sirius Red (JPA 482V I do so miss you!)...
Easy to buy and easy to scrap at the time!! Lordy, I am an idiot.

When I was 20 (34 years ago) I had a white 105e anglia, 1600gt engine, rocket box, torque links on the rear axle, van springs, lowering blocks, Cortina mk1 GT front struts and brakes, escort Recaros etc compared to many of the cars of the day it flew.
I even turned down the offer of a running lotus twin cam with carbs for £200.
eventually struggled to sell it for £300 (replaced it with a V12 xjs)

In 1993 I was either driving a vw bay window tin top, a mk2 cavalier 1.6L or a fiat 127 sport.

The year was 1999, I was wearing baggy trousers and living in Washington State. My whip for that year was a 94 Regal Custom. It was the 3800 and of course fwd, if you ask anyone about them they will say that they're awful. They are, of course wrong. 😄

Had a ex-police diplomat and a Lil Red Express Truck. Was seriously broke and lived in the diplomat on the streets of Chicago while attending university. I look back fondly but it was not a bright period in my life.

Citroen Ax Debut.
1.0 litres of French fury that leaned so much in corners I was worried about wearing out wing mirrors.

When I was 20, I drove a Honda. My parents took out a loan to give it to me for my eighteenth birthday. Then it was a dream. It's not a Ferrari, of course, but it's not a bad car either. They bought it on www.jdmbuysell.com/for-sale/honda/beat/. I remember. I was 20 years old, not so long ago, just five years ago. But I've already changed three cars. I work as a photographer and earn good money to afford to buy new vehicles. It seems that at the age of 25, I'm finally satisfied with life.
