Had these two when I was 19. The Monza streak finished when I was in my forties! Due to my young age this may explain this,,,,,,,ouch.

I had a red Peugeot 206. I'm not posting a pic because a) I don't have any of it, b) you know what one looks like and c) I would be letting the rest of the thread down.
I owned it til I was 29 and now own an equally ordinary Focus. I don't enjoy driving any more and only come here to look at pictures.

I was 20 in...let me think... 1986. I would have been in my second year of art school so I would have been tooling round in either a red 104 ZS (early part) or a yellow Mk 1 Escort Mexico (latter part).
Dear god a Mk 1 Mexico as a cheap student car. Those were the days!.
A metallic brown FIAT 131 TC may have crept in at the end of the year.

Alfa 90 Turbo Diesel (I was restoring my Giulia Super which I still own at that time). Fast and cheap to run. Here checking fluids before driving back from Bologna to the Netherlands. Thom

I was only 20 years old in 2010 lol so I'm a bit of a youngen round here by the looks of it. I couldnt afford to insure faster cars at 17 so i delved into the world of offroad. I had other non interesting cars during this time as well but these were the key vehicles for me. I had a Suzuki SJ 410 Softtop to start off with, jesus that was cold in winter. And then upgraded to a 413 hardtop a little while later. I did have a 1275 Mini as a project at college but never actually finished it My first what i considered to be fast at the time car was unusually and Alfa Romeo S3 33 P4, o absolutely loved that car it was fantastic to drive and very rare. I found out it was so rare i had to buy two other cars just for spares to keep the thing going. From memory the car cost me £950 and i got it from Brighton. I then bought a Honda CRX 1616 and that took me to my first trip over to the Nurburgring and Holland, it was a great little car with 150bhp and cemented my love for Honda, ive had about 25 since. I always hunted for cars under £1500 that were different but could still keep up witht he usual riff raff boy racers my age owned. So next up was a stunning Alfa Romeo 155 V6 slimmy that i adored. it looks and sounded spot on with those toruing car features. Another car i'd certainly own again. Then my final car before i got into my 20's was the super underrated phase 1 Volvo S40 T4 with 1.9T engine. Ex touring car champions and sharing parts with early lancer evos it embarressed many a car on and off track with 220bhp and even more torque. My driving came a brief end in this car as i was yound and immature. racing an undercover police car at 2am down a dual carriageway saw me with a ban of 4 months and £700 fine after averaging 127mph over several miles and a peak speed of 147mph. Its safe to say the poilceman was far from happy and was a little surprised to see a Volvo gapping his undercover 335D coupe. safe to say i learnt my lesson on that one, keep it on the track kids . Sadly that car was purchased and then got written off two week later.

A Marina van, 1275 low compression, with one working wheel brake. It had been T-boned on the left hand side so badly, there wasn't room for a passenger. Only cost me £15 though.

At age 20 I was driving a 1952 Morris Cowley utility to which I fitted a marine ply canopy. This vehicle was purchased by my fiancé and me from her Dad. It served us well for three years before we sold it and replaced it with a 1955 Morris Oxford sedan, similar to those built in India under licence and known as Ambassadore’s. The Cowley utility was a four cylinder side valve powered ( I use the word “powered” advisably”) with a four speed gearbox.

I don't have any pics to hand, but I was 20 in 1996. I was driving round in a 1970 VW Beetle, lowered, no bumpers with T bars, wide steels on the back, was originally a 1200 SP, which spun a bearing, so I fitted a 1600 twin port on the 1200 box, went much better, went even better when I put 1641 barrels and pistons on it, IDF carbs, 110 cam and ported heads.Tuck away exhaust with J pipes wrapped in thermotec With just front seats in it, no stereo/carpets, it was noisy and fun, used to surprise a lot of folk. Used to get pulled over a fair bit Good times.

I would have been 20 years old in 1991 and would have been driving my Mini Pick-up which had a modified 1300 GT engine installed, Alley Kat Rally Specials with Pirelli P7F tyres, Recaro seats from a Ford Escort RS turbo & bonnet vents from a Ford Sierra Cosworth Mk1. I was one of the first to get 13" wheels to fit a Mini without cutting the bodywork. (thanks to the P7F tyres.) As it was only just eleven years old when I brought it it was quite solid, but had many dents from its previous industrial life. It went like absolute stink, as except for the Recaros and Mini Cooper steering wheel it had very little interior. (No carpets & the door cards were cardboard). With the big bore exhaust, you could hear me coming from half a mile away. :-) My BL Mini 95 Pick-up EOE 309V by Kevin Day, on Flickr I would have just brought my Reliant Scimitar SS1 too. That was pretty much standard except for the colour change I made when I had it sprayed Rover Nightfire metalic red.. but that wasn't until about 1994. In it's time in my ownership, I did pretty much end up rebuilding this car from the ground up as I either had to replace everything because it broke or modify it because Reliant had designed parts of it badly. Lucky enough, I worked for Lucas and had access to info of what parts they borrowed from other makes. (Mainly Ford & B.L. parts). The 2nd picture is from when I had it resprayed and the 1st is from when I first had it.
