Good Morning,
I only have a single key for my '97 Astra F with the chip integrated. My question is :
- where can I get a second key with this chip ?
- what do I need to remove from a donor vehicle - with two keys - to install in my Astra? I have a rough idea that there's some sort of control module in the footwell? Or is it related to the main ECU also?
Any thoughts appreciated. Cheers

Do you not have any auto locksmiths that can copy another chip for spare keys?
If you want to change the lot then you need keys, transponder ring which is fitted on the steering column and the engine ECU, obviously the engine ECU needs to match your type of engine as well

Thankyou for your answer gtviva. The parts exchange option does seem convoluted, especially as my car has had a motor upgrade.. finding all the relevant pieces would be a headache. I was thinking it was not possible to make another key unless you had the original papers that came with the car which have the code? It appears there are other options than there would have been available in the 90s I will look for someone to copy the key.

If you have the security code that came with the car (usually on a card with radio key etc from new) it can be done with a laptop and opcom software. Think the chips are pretty cheap, The software lets you add and delete keys and loads of other interesting stuff like diagnostics and changing mileage.
Assuming you have original ECU vaux will supply security code for about £30 with V5 proof and you can get Chinese opcom and obd adapter for similar price. I'm on a few Vaux sites so maybe someone local would do it?
