Puegeot 205D 1800cc 5 door Mardi Gras special edition.
MOT till 12/06/2022 and on SORN at the moment.
I've owned this car for almost 5 and a bit years and the girlfiend owned it for about a year before me. Because it's been my daily driver, I've always had the major problems fixed by the professionals at my local garage.
It was a low mileage car when we got and now it's on 170K, but still low for the unbreakable TUD engine.
Since we've owned it, it's had oil changes every 6 months with quality oil (I'm a truck driver, so get a very good discount on oil!) and is very economical, we drove to Barcelona and used less than 2 tanks of fuel!
Pretty sure I'll regret selling, but just fancy a change......I'm sure everyone knows what I mean?
Good points
Pretty much rust free
Economical
Everything except the rear wash wipe works
Battery about a year old and the biggest that'll fit, the tyres have lots of life and are good quality all season ones
Rear beam replaced about 2 years ago
Recent cam belt and water pump (the second time I've changed it!)
And when if somethings failed/worn out, it's been changed
Mardi Gras edition, so has electric front windows and a pop out glass sunroof (so 90's!) and with factory rubber mats!
Never failed to start or get me home.
Bad points
For some reason, it keeps getting attacked in car parks, resulting in a broken indicator lens, a scar down the N/S rear door and a small dent in the front wing.
Also has a couple of white scuffs along it's flank. None of these affect it's driving or the MOT.
The O/S front inner wing is now showing some surface corrosion, which I may very well treat this weekend.
Can't see any other corrosion.
The rear wash wipe doesn't work, because the wiper switch failed and the only switch I could find was for a van!
The rear hatch gas struts are a bit weak.
Radio has stopped working, even though it's got fancy new speakers! Has the original Peugeot radio to go with car
Ideal first Retro/Classic, cheap to run, easy to fix, not too bad for spare part availability, get lots of the "that's rare, cool retro or my dad had one" type comments.
Engine and driveline are good with at least another 100K left to go.
Wouldn't hesitate to get into it and drive to anywhere at a moments notice.
Asking £695 and the car is in Birchington Kent.
I may revise this listing, if I remember any other important facts and the Delica shown in the back ground is also for sale, but that's a project!
