Hey there, I'm considering selling my 1999 S55 AMG. Its one of those rare ones where all the electrics work, well the heater motor wiring connector needs a sort out and thats it. But all of the fancy stuff works, air suspension (with electronic adjustable damping),heated/chilled front seats, drivers has massage function, rear electric seats, updated ICE with touch screen and has built in sat nav, SD card music/video player etc. Also, ive put in a new ac condensor and radiator, new plugs (all 16!) regular serviced, new boots all around, less than 5k on them. Grey interior, black exterior, which is showing its age a little ( i was going to give it a plasti dip treatment to smarten it up) . The main bonus for most is that due to its age, it is now classed as a classic car on the insurance side of life, despite it having a 360HP with a 0 to 60 of 5 second, 5.5L V8 up front. Sure i could brake it and get loads for the wheels and tyres etc etc but i think its too good for that. I have the original bill of sale, which was an outstanding £100,000 !!! So what would you pay for it, being sensible now

The registration (obscured) is invaluable as it helps with determining the condition of the car and subsequent value. (Through DVLA MOT history).

OK, thanks, seeing the MOT history helps quite a lot. There's not many of them on the market for comparison. Depending on how good she looks inside and out after a good valet I'm going to guesstimate £2½K to £3K. For comparison, here's an '02 model with 130K miles on at £3K. A handful of MOT advisories in history; www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/mercedes-s55-amg/1375794974It's a huge amount of car for the money! EDITThis looks to have sold within a day suggesting it was priced comfortably below what the market is currently prepared to pay. Revised price on yours £3½K to £4K (depending on how well she scrubs up).

Only problem with your car is where its been kept parked. Green stuff underneathe is a no no for any car.
Even though MkX stated 2.5/3k.. Its got moist under it, the brake pipes are corroded and covered with something as written on the MOT advisory. The brake flexi brackets are catching when you raise the vehicle. Surely that's a dangerous..
And this is not a cheap fix on this barge.
How bad is the paintwork? Immaculate paint job is the crucial point on a Prestige car.
On that note. The price shouldn't be 2/3k.
Yes you may break it for more. But be sat about for years to come maybe..
£1000/£1500 is my valuation, if you'd want that figure. I'll happily deal with You and bring this car back to life in the months to come.

Surely that's a dangerous.. And this is not a cheap fix on this barge.. Its been in that spot for 2 weeks now, prior to that on a hard standing, so not that long really,as it was all strimmed bare when parked over it, as we all know stinger are fast growers. the brake pipes have surface rust, something that all 20 year old cars have if they have steel pipes , however, having been in the motor trade for 20+ years, if i feel that one requires replacement, i make them with copper replacements. Mot testers have to report even a spot of rust as corrosion, even if its surface powdery rust. "Both rear tyres rub on rear brake flexis brackets when vehicle is raised with suspension hanging." as per the mot history, you will notice the the part in red i have highlighted, the word to note is "hanging" thus when jacked all the way off the floor on full extention, the only time that would happen when driving would be when airborne not when driving around. One thing that has happened over the years, not to mention mot testers are human and interpret the rule book differently, is that the mot test has become tighter which i believe is mainly to cover backsides to avoid litigation and stop the dangerous repairs that are far too prevalent. £1000/£1500 is my valuation, if you'd want that figure. I'll happily deal with You and bring this car back to life in the months to come. Ill bare that in mind dude
