Actually I hadn't even scratched the surface, searched cars between 1990 and 2001, for under a grand and you're spoilt for choice! Forget the Primera in my last post, if you want something truly unique, you need this Mitsuoka Ryoga www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/378612556112734/ Doesn't quite work as well as the Viewt, but if that price of £999 is correct, then it could be some genuinely rare JDM for not a lot of money... Suzuki Baleno 3 door hatch has got bags of potential, no MOT but only £750 www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/944578219353863/ Lovely tan interior on this 306 cabriolet for £795, one of these lowered on some suitable wheels would be a really nice summer cruiser www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/766506040845436/ Don't recall having seen one of these before but a Proton Coupe?, £700, has standard Recaro interior, Mitsubishi mechanicals, actually looks kinda cool www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/305818860749074/ I genuinely need to stop looking before I end up buying something I definitely don't need

It makes me quite emotional.

Was thinking of posting my Baleno in here, now I guess this gives me good reason to. I got this two years ago with 52,000~ Miles on the clock, only a couple of older lady owners (apparently this is good), is a local car (that’s the sort of thing I like) and was £650. It wasn’t show room condition, but pretty close to immaculate for a 17 year old car. It’s the rarer GSR model, which as far I can tell means it’s one of 599/600 produced. The five spoke Speedline alloys are original equipment fitted only to this model, has a GSR specific interior and white dials. It supposedly pushes out 119BHP from an all alloy 1.8L twin cam 4 cylinder, weighs 995Kg and is generally a great little hoot to drive. The 1.6/1.3 GS’ have tempted me, a couple were on eBay last month for less than £400 with MOT, there’s a REEAALLY nice looking blue one on there for £750 now. Would be good to try and keep the miles off the GSR. I like to tell people, production numbers for the GSR model actually make it rarer than a Ferrari F40

While I wouldn't personally have one, they are curious. That they managed to make (and still make?) so many variants of faux British looking car and seem to be fairly successful in selling them is quite remarkable. The second generation Ryoga appears to be based on a Sunny rather than the Primera and has a more.. resolved rear end styling If I had to have a Mitsuoka though, I think it would have to be a Le Seyde. A Nissan Silvia based, faux Dusenberg/batmobile looking thing, and I'd have it only for the fact that it would look totally out of place at drift events Going from Mitsuoka to Mitsubishi though, the talk of Baleno's above got me thinking of another often overlooked Japanese hatch in the Mirage/Colt www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2004-Mitsubishi-Colt-1-3-Attivo-II-3dr-HATCHBACK-Petrol-Manual/153982353071?hash=item23da103eaf:g:8x4AAOSwmyle85XlMost of them seem to have disappeared, but another nice alternative to the typical modified Honda Civics you see everywhere
