Excuse my ignorance on this although I briefly owned a couple of capris in the past it’s BMW e36s where I have my knowledge/experience.
I fancy something older as the next project and I’ve seen a nice Capri shell and a mechanically sound but pretty shabby scimitar. I fancy making a nice essex powered Capri using the scimitar as a donor but what is a direct fit?
Are the sump different on the engines, i note that the essex sits so far back in the scimitar...
I also note the scimitar manual box is a four speed plus overdrive, this obviously mates to an Essex but does it line up properly with the Capri transmission tunnel/gear stick hole?
Any advice on the rest of the components (axles, breaks, suspension, propshaft, exhaust etc) would be gratefully received as to how much of a goer this brainchild is...🤔
