Rover Streetwise /25 spring chopping.

Had an odd one today, wanted a budget drop on the Rover, took a couple of coils out now the spring has just slid over the suspension leg as if it's width has expanded!?

Are they tapered springs???

Yes, they are slightly tapered at one end.

Yes, they are slightly tapered at one end.

Chop the top of the spring then?

Problem with that is if you take too much off that end it goes too small to fit back into the top spring cup properly.
