One of the brackets on my rear axle needs replacing. Brackets are available, but are any special precautions needed i.e. should I drain it first?
Axle is on a range rover.

You should be ok without draining the oil, just make sure the breather is clear.

You will need a high current, axle tubes are suprisingly thick.

Axle needs to be complete, shafts in etc.

Cheers for the advice welder goes up to 160amp so will max it out
