I know I am getting old as I keep repeating myself but, told this story before on this very board. Back in the early 90's I worked for a computer company based in Leeds. At the time we always had second hand company cars, mine was a Sierra 4X4 that got stolen so needed another one to replace it. The guy that bought our cars asked if I wanted a Carlton as a change - a new one as well - and I agreed as I thought I was getting a GSI. Turns out he had done a deal with the local dealer to buy 2 or 3 (cant remember how many exactly) special edition Carltons all in Green as the dealer couldn't sell them. And that is how I ended ups with a Lotus Carlton as a company car when what I really wanted was a 911.... P. |
