When I visited RR this morning, I was prompted to login. I hit the "login" link in the top right corner, it didn't prompt me for a username or password, but logged me in correctly. I've been away to other sites (I know, I know, but work has to be done) and come back, and it's done the same thing, even though I haven't closed my browser (MS Edge, recently updated, Win10).
Is anyone else seeing this? I get a similar thing on Pistonheads now, but only after I've closed the browser - if I just go away and come back it will remember my login until I need start a new browser session, which is usually next day as I shut the PC down when I'm not using it.

Probably somewhere along the link your "cookies" are being cleared out as you close the browser or close your tabs.

But only partly cleared out, because I don't actually have to give my username or password, I just click "Login" and it lets me in. So the information is there somewhere.
It's no big deal, but it's a change from a few days ago when it wasn't doing this, so I figured I'd mention it. It only becomes a slightly bigger deal when it actually wants a password, because it's so long since I set it I'll have to go through the reset procedure.

Same here, up until last night I was automatically logged in, now I have to login with each visit.

I've been getting it the last few days too, MS Edge also, don't think it's been updated recently.

If I use the retrorides.proboards.com I have to log in each time, well click log in - it does the rest for me , been that way for ages. If I use forum.retro-rides.org it logs me in automatically.

I always used to have the login issue as described above - it's never really bothered me - but your post explains why i don't get the issue any more = I book marked the org address whereas in the past it used to pick up the proboards.com from history when i typed the site in the address bar manually.

Oh, I wonder if that's it. I'm going to my bookmark, which points at retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi - but I have always done that, and didn't need to login until a few days ago.

I've added another bookmark, directly to forum.retro-rides.org, and on a first quick test it appears that has fixed the issue. So the problem must be in whatever redirects from one URL to the other.

Please... Never use retrorides.proboards.com ... forum.retro-rides.org please. This would also stop image uploading working, so that could be the issue. There was a bit of auto forwarding code but issue with Google indexing have caused me to disable that (although I don't think that was the issue now and will take another look)

Just now opening the proboards link doesn't bring anything up, so I'll just delete that one and use the direct URL.
