I'm relativly new on here having been a member for around 10 months but having come from a forum that was descimated by the actions of people and the afformentioned argument about work done on one car by another member I was really glad to come over here and see that it was all about cars and there wasn't any nasty stuff that I noticed.

I saw the thread that Grumpy Northerner posted and I thought it was absolutley fine, he isn't a fan of modified stuff but this was a modified car that he liked. Personally I didn't like it but thats the great thing about this forum, there is such a variety and there are so many people doing cool cars from standard stuff to heavily modified and generally everyone seems welcome and there is a nice friendly atmosphere.

There is goldnrust with his Daimler V8 250, then mat88 and his awesome V8 turbocharged Lexus IS200 and so many more, its just such a fantastic variety of people and cars and the one thing we have in common is we all love old motors.

Please don't let this forum be ruined by the actions of a few people who just want to pick a fight with a stranger on the internet for something to do when they are bored.

The biggest challenge faced by most forums these days is the inability of members,(and admin alike ),to read and actually comprehend what they have just read. It’s much easier just to skim read and then practise the forum sport of jumping to conclusions. Anybody with more than half a braincell  and a true desire to test this theory need look no further than the first post of the” now infamous” thread . Read it. Read it with an open mind and no preconceived ideas. Read it in its entirety. Comprehend what you have just read. It’s a good opening statement that many a lawyer would be proud of. It was a fine piece of writing for those willing to actually take the time to read it. And, it really does clearly state,that whilst the OP generally doesn’t like modified cars, this one he does like. He then goes on to explain his thinking. It was a good thread for about a page, with everybody playing nicely ,before somebody jumped in feet first, seemingly having not spent the time to actually read what had been written. I do love that whooshing sound as it goes right over people’s heads....

Anyway, homersimpson , it’s good to get some new blood on the forum. A good forum is only as good as its members, as, after all, a forum with no members is no forum at all. 😊 A concept that isn’t universally understood. It’s especially good to get members that  take the time to share their knowledge, and just as importantly are willing to actually read what people have written,not just coming on here  to exercise their guide dog whilst spoiling for a fight 😊. It’s generally a good place to be 😊

Woohhoooo I got a mention for the v8T lexus... Now what have I missed haha.

Reading between the lines it would appear someone doesn't like overly modified cars, someone else doesn't like standard cars. And a willy waving competition ensues... (Along with sly digs which aren't really necessary).

I havent seen much of this on this forum which is why I love it. I've seen everything from concourse restoration jobs, to lashed together on the drive in the pouring rain with little idea what there doing (I'm definitely that group haha). But I appreciate both and as long as it makes the owner happy and isn't "unsafe" that's why we all do this isn't it? Least thats why I do.
