Hi all. I need some IT assistance please. On one of my other car club forums, i can read all of the threads but whenever i try to reply to a post, it gets blocked. Is this likely to be a fault with their site or will it cover all others ?

if you are doing this at home, switch off your router then back on, sometimes this changes your ip address
then try again
if it don't work, contact the forum admin and give them your ip number to unblock it
for your ip number just google "what is my ip", and it will show

If you issue the command ipconfig/renew in a dos prompt you'll get a new ip

If you issue the command ipconfig/renew in a dos prompt you'll get a new ip On the local network (e.g. between the router and the device). Won't make a jot of difference to the public IP (e.g. between the router and the ISP). Happy to be disproven, but I'm pretty sure on this.

Sorry, I'd made the assumption that it was the ip of the op which was being blocked by the car site.
You're correct, that command would only change the ip of the op.
