Firstly, hello to all. Been lurking on here for a while, finally taken then plunge. Owned a variety of retros over the years, plus some crackers. Previous chariots include Rover P4, SD1, Triumph Dolly, Cavalier Sports Hatch, 1.6 Montego, Cortina, Carltons and Scudo van at present.
Main question is the value of a Mk 1 (or is it a 2 - it's the very last of the original shape anyway.) and whether it's worth trying to sell or if no market for it. It's a 2.2 CDi auto 1986 (D) in metallic steel grey. Has been garaged all it's life and only 80,000 miles with lots of history and 2 previous owners. Has all the early 80s luxuries like 4 electric windows, central locking, manual sunroof, very nice velour interior (grey), good alloys complete with the plastic stars that go in the middle.
The bad - it's been sat in a dry garage for 12 years and the new tyres are flat. In the past it's had a couple of small plates welded to top of struts/inner wings (haven't they all!) and there is a small scab on the n/s front wing near indicator. Apart from that the body is rust free. Apparently there was also slight weep of ATF from the rear of the autobox when it was last used. It's has boxes of new and used spares and a brand new rear bumper to replace the original which has a slight crease in it. Everything on the car worked when laid up.
So, does it have a value, and if yes what should I advertise it for if it is worth selling? Thanks for any replies.
(Have included pic of what it looked like approx 13 years ago when in use and immediately before it went into dry storage - minus the star centre caps for alloys which are in boot)
