I had an rx8 with the black leather and the seats were really comfortable for bucket type seats as stated most if the leather seats came heated which would be a nice touch In the eagle !
If you ever need anything from Peterborough way let me know as my in-laws are from Strood and we often visit and stay in the premier inn by diggerland

On a technical note...... I think those seats will have a bearing on your power to weight ratio though

I think the problem with a Dutton (or any other sevenesque frame) is the driver is just about sat on the rear axle line, which is more or less in the back of the jeep? It's a bit further forward than that so may work depending on proportions and how flat you sit versus being upright. In mine your legs are pretty much straight out in front.

which bits of a range rover does it use ? There were two distinctly different models One RR based, seems they were trailed to death And one model, Ford Cortina/Sierra based. I could be wrong. If you look at the one I bought, it seems to be all Ford. One of the articles I have is a build based on a Daihatsu, I'll scan that one next.

Good work. Get it slammed. My Covin was 800kg with 1.6 8v 100bhp. Fast enough.

Nice trailer - going to weigh 600Kg or so plus same for rolling chassis and parts so call it 1.2 tonnes well within the 1.8 tonnes max for a Galaxy www.parkers.co.uk/ford/galaxy/estate-2000/23-silver-5d/specs/Galaxy weighs 1.6 tonnes so at 1.2 tonnes nicely within the 2/3 advisory limit on towing as well. MPG wont be great but a nice gentle tootle should keep it in the mid 20's Sweet. James p.s. those seats are often heated so keep you nice and toasty PPS I should have said 75% not 2/3 ! having a moment. Trailer will be empty on way up, if anyone wants to hire space on the back from Fil, for the cost of diesel and increased consumption. I am planning on fixing the seats without motors, one position (mine) and then, losing weight by losing motors. However, heated seats, if one can retain them, works for me. I had an rx8 with the black leather and the seats were really comfortable for bucket type seats as stated most if the leather seats came heated which would be a nice touch In the eagle ! If you ever need anything from Peterborough way let me know as my in-laws are from Strood and we often visit and stay in the premier inn by diggerland That’s brilliant, thanks for the offer mate. We never know when we need each other, or can help someone On a technical note...... I think those seats will have a bearing on your power to weight ratio though Absolutely. But one can lose all the motors etc, Bill was saying, the drivers seat is a lot heavier than passenger side. Would be perfectly fine to have two passenger seats fitted. I guess one can always play around a bit too if you really wanted it. There were two distinctly different models One RR based, seems they were trailed to death And one model, Ford Cortina/Sierra based. I could be wrong. If you look at the one I bought, it seems to be all Ford. One of the articles I have is a build based on a Daihatsu, I'll scan that one next. Thanks That’s just brilliant. Sport rank was in my mind originally.

You’ll probably have to put the driver’s seat on a basic manual slide/runner. It’s got to be adjustable for the MoT IIRC.

Wheels.......
What wheels?
I know I do love Watanabe’s
But they will cost more than the whole car.
I can get a set of Wellers cheap, paint them gold.
Which is really the way I am visualising the wheels and tyres.
Opinions?
Keep in mind this is a low to the ground , antisocial kind of creature, cutting a fine line betwee ,good and evil.

Yes. When I helped my mate finish his Dutton Phaeton in the 80s we fell foul of it. That was pre IVA, just the MoT test. The car’s got to be drivable by another in an emergency, and that person might not be the same size as you. It doesn’t need to be infinitely adjustable, but it has to allow a “reasonable range of adjustment”. Things change, so it might be worth checking, but regs have got tougher, not slacker, in the last 30 odd years.

So the wheels..... Seems I have offered on these. Waiting to hear from the seller if he will throw in some wheel nuts in, as the Rezin Rockit only has 2 nuts per wheel currently. They are about 80 miles from me, but why make it easy when building something weird. Description says they are used. But they do look nice in the pics. LOST OUT, SOLD. GUESS I SHOULD NOT HAVE SAID ANYTHING. STILL, NEXT....! I do not know the paint colour or codes people use normally. But I do want these in a golden bronze colour Still moving along. .

For those who remember Edd Weeks who did the conversion on my,1963 Ford Trnsit, he has come up with a colour - Ford Arizona Gold, which is pretty close to what I like. If the car ends up very Red, then the contrast may not be the same as Silver or black, but I think it will be good. He had it on his cars wheels too. Example.

Well, this looks like fun. People like you make me feel very sane and boring, Grizz...
I can certainly recommend gold wheels. Very classy.
Carry on!
