What I've noticed is on my tablet & phone it always defaults to phone mode - but the text is too small to read. If I change it to desktop on both items its bigger text and more readable.
Can we either have bigger text in the non desktop mode or can it 'remember' to stay in desktop mode?

The remembering thing is done in the settings on my iPhone.
In settings, then in safari, Under ‘settings for desktops’ you have to select ‘request desktop sites‘ and then ‘always’
Someone told me that earlier (think it was Glen, sorry if not)

Added a search to the nav bar, as the built in proboards one can be a bit lackluster at times. There are loads of settings and stuff to be sorted out on it, but for the time being it is there (and I found some Datsun Sunny threads I never knew we had hahah)

I want to change the likes display next most probably, So I did that, and some other button styling ... I think they may be a touch large at the moment, but I will massage them a touch this week. Want to get a nice set button style that can be used across the board. Things I'm remembering from this exercise : Colours are HARD WORK (any palette experts on the forum? Littlepixel ?) there are A LOT of parts to this board, that impact each other, but also don't cover all areas. Slowly moving forward though, will look at these break points for different displays this week.

HoTWire Yes - I can probably help with colours for buttons / other interface 'chrome' as we call it in the biz - yell if/when you need me.

Getting used to the "Like" on the left now.
For the first few times was faced with the "Quote"
A bit like when I bought my first LHD. You know, getting in the passenger side and realising that some fairly important stuff is missing.

The buttons are very, errrr, in your face at the moment. Not only are they indeed quite big, they're also very bright against the dark background; I bet Littlepixel can fix that with a bit of colour pixel mixing. The styling of the buttons looks much nicer than the old ones though, bit more contemporary I guess. I don't think I've ever "liked" anything on the internet, so I've never needed that button anyway, but the quote and edit buttons and the little menu next to it are very useful.

The like button doesn't seem to render correctly if you aren't logged on either. I don't wish to be a moaning Minnie ('cos my name's James) but it feels like the actual post - the bit I 'm interested in - is taking an increasingly back seat position. The bits that jump out at me are the side panel, the buttons... All the furniture. I'm actually finding it preferable to read on the tablet now because it cuts the side panel off. But I'm damned if I'm going post things using a touch screen, that's too painful. Sorry. Minnie (Er, I mean, James)

Agreed, buttons could (should?) be reduced by around 40% and darkened down a bit.
The top banner although very clear is also a bit dazzling too, maybe look a bit nicer if the grey went to blue to match the RR logo colour?

Thanks for the feed back folks, yup still working on massaging this.
Interestingly I've noticed as I've removed more clutter from the forum, anything added to the screen makes much more of a difference than it used to. Which is great because it means as that stuff is sorted to fit in nicer the forum becomes nice and streamline. I'll keep working on it (and I've dropped littlepixel a message too for a bit of help).

One teeny tiny thing I noted about the "Like" button is that it doesn't seem to noticeably change after you've clicked it, so if multiple people have already liked a post it's not immediately obvious you've liked it also? Although, having gone back to a post I'd liked previously to double check, it now says "Liked". So I assume it's having to wait for me to navigate away from the page before changing its status? Like I say, teeny tiny thing though, would no doubt get used to it in time

Quick update, I put live the stuff that Littlepixel sent over as a mock up for the listing pages. There are new icons for all the forum sections which I'll have a look at too. Some of this may change further (there were a couple of options for making the forum a higher contrast, and I need to do the title bar too. Also need to sort out the padding and stuff on the right hand side. However we're moving forwards, which is nice.

Nope.
New framed index page is weird on the eyes, has removed the smooth flow.
Really awkward to read individual lines
Prefer the previous format. My 5p
