Polestar resto mod a Volvo P1800 and it is very blue

Look I'll get straight to the point, here photos:












Headline numbers 440bhp in a 990kg car tells me that it can certainly shift.

It is actually built by Cyan Racing which is what Polestar's racing division turned in to. As a C30 owner I wish they had done more with the crazy C30 they built, apparently this is going to be more available (so a bit like Singer and all that).

What do you reckon? I'd still like to see the Mattias Vocks project come to light as it seemed a bit more of a reimagining. However I suspect that isn't going to happen ...

Looks good, wheels are slightly out of proportion to the body but it’s modified so carries it off. Should have a matching Amazon to complement it 😎

I love the idea and the that's going to be a total weapon, although I hoped it was going to be all electric coming from Polestar...

Moving the arches and the big wheels make it look like a really different car, I think it's the arch to wingtop on the front.

It's not bad, it's lost a bit of the elegance of the original shape with the arches but I suppose that's part of the point.

It's an interesting one. I must admit I've never been a particular fan of the look of the wheels in the restomod style (the engineering, on the other hand, is just awesome).

I reckon a set of slightly smaller (say, 17" or 16"), more period-looking and dished wheels would reimbue some of the elegance of the design

Still, bloody awesome car. If I could make something even half as well finished I'd be a proud man!

That is nudging into the 'cafe racer' style. Personally prefer a smaller rim/deeper tyre sidewall but that's taking nothing away from the engineering that has gone into this, nor the fantastic outcome achieved.

Oh yes, I love that! I dare say they couldn't fit smaller wheels over the brakes... I guess they could have fitted smaller brakes but with those power to weight figures it might not be prudent!
I've not seen any interior shots... caramel leather would be my choice.

Visually, that's surprisingly well balanced given the size of the wheels. In fact, smaller wheels might not looked quite as good. The work on the arches really helps, and the little details elsewhere like the front valance and the boot lid treatment really works well. They've picked the best bits of the Volvo design and managed to modernise it sensitively which is no mean feat given how delicate looking a car these are in stock trim. Looks quite purposeful now, like the sports car it never was.

An excellent walkaround and drive video of this here, no waffle and given some reasonable beans considering its on public roads.



I for one think its rad. Always love the interior work that goes into projects like this too.
