I've found a 'new' old stock roof skin for my car in the US. The chances of finding another are pretty much zero, so quite keen to buy. Given the size of the thing once put in to some kinda wooden crate, is there any sensible/economic way to ship it back to the UK ? I remember a guy on YouTube who made car vids talking about a shared container service for importing parts from Japan , is there anything similar from the US ?
Thanks

Ask on the Hot Rod / customs forums, as a while back i remember reading that some shipping agents / car / parts importers would sell container space for a fee, no idea of pricing though.

Thanks This video is largely about importing a car from USA but does touch on container importing etc and also mentions some US based companies who might be able to help.

Where are you?
I know a bloke in the Midlands who brings containers over all the time.
You have it sent to his warehouse in the US and he does the rest

Thanks all for the suggestions. I'm in Dartford, Kent. Once in the UK, it shouldn't be too hard to collect. I'm waiting on the seller to get back to me with a quote to ship direct, so will take it from there. He is a friend, so prepared to shop around and do it at cost etc.
