Morning all
Covid19 has screwed up life for many.
Has anyone got current experience of their level of service and pace of processing requests?
Thanks.

Only very basic requests but I bought a car a couple of weeks ago on a Wednesday. I did the owner update online and the V5 came two days later on Friday.
The next week I switched number plates on the car on the Friday and the upated logbook arrived the following Tuesday.
I was actually quite impressed!

Same experience for me, although I waiting a few months before transferring the plates. Download a form that you can take to get new plates made up.

My wife has just received a log book for a previously imported but not registered Vespa which only took two weeks for the DVLA to sort.

I changed ownership of my bike online on the friday and had the V5 on the Wednesday, considering the current circumstances I was very impressed.

Done a couple of V5 online, back in a few days. Heard horrors of people waiting since March for paper forms though so do it online.
Also did a v55/5, came back after 8-9 weeks because of an error, resubmitted and got it processed in 6 weeks as of the end of August.
So regular stuff seems to be up to speed, tricky paperwork is taking longer though.

I have to do a new V5 application, so stuck with paper option only.
Cannot do online, and cheque payment.

I've registered two Pre-1979 Motorbikes during Covid, one a US import and one previously unregistered.
Paperwork sent off in July and back 3 weeks later a couple of days apart, no different to the usual experience really.

I have to do a new V5 application, so stuck with paper option only. Cannot do online, and cheque payment. That reminds me - my V55/5 was done with cheques, and when they sent the initial confirmation letter of my new registration, it mentioned that it may be a few weeks until they cashed the cheques due to backlogs, but the V5C was issued straight away. It's now been about 3 weeks since the V5 was issued, and the vehicle is showing as taxed (also paid by cheque), but DVLA have not yet cashed the cheques. So, I need to make sure I keep money in the account to cover these cheques at some point in the future.

Scrapped a car, filled out online. Got notification few days later. I assume it had very little if any human interaction.

Well.... V5c arrived. Just tried to do a SORN System refused as previous owner has not yet informed DVLA of change of ownership Now what do I do ? Wait a few days and see if it updates. If not, submit a V890 form by post. For future reference, you can post a V890 in the same envelope as your V62 and they will process them together.

Just redid it, interestingly, It did not recognise the Q-Plate the first time. So I logged out, and started again, then it warned me the last time the car was taxed was 2001 which is obviously when it came off the road. And that one can be held liable for arrears road tax. Anyway.... I hit the “Make SORN” button and it is now so. Hopefully just some systemic glitch.

I was expecting to be waiting several months for the V5 but both were completed within 5 weeks! That reminds me - my V55/5 was done with cheques, and when they sent the initial confirmation letter of my new registration, it mentioned that it may be a few weeks until they cashed the cheques due to backlogs, but the V5C was issued straight away. I recently 1/10 did a post office change of tax class via the green slip (disabled back to PLG) I called them on the 17/10 and the new v5 landed on the 23/10 having been issued on the 20/10.
I think a call helps and their service seems pretty up to scratch now. Chap was cheerful and helpful.
Other entirely online transactions with DVLA (5 v5 swaps in lock down) have been as fast as usual.

Did a v62 for a missing V5, after 3 weeks they sent me a letter saying all was good, and giving a date 3 weeks from then when they would issue the V5. That they did, don't know why they couldn't send it when they processed the application but ok.
I did however put in a paper SORN with the v62, which they still haven't processed 3 weeks after receiving the V5. I've also now done it a week ago online, and still not showing SORN so they seem a bit sluggish.
Cheque for the v62 was cashed two weeks after I got the V5.
