My normal online imperial fixings supplier cannot supply the items I am looking for and over time have been reducing the range of stock. I wondered if anyone has any recommendations for a good online supplier who at the very least has the fixing below but also at a reasonable price.
The items I am struggling with are:
5/8 UNC nuts (un-plated) both half and full nuts
5/16"x1" UNC coach bolts
Thanks Iain

I usually buy small quantities through eBay from the likes of KayFast and BoltWorld, and large quantities directly from the same sellers.

I've used Spalding Fasteners a lot, although I usually get stuff from them at shows rather than online as it seems to be a bit less costly. Not an option for now, though. Most of their nuts are BZP, though.

Acorn fastners are great for obscure stuff. They have a huge stock of NOS fasteners.

Problem is the stuff your looking for is probably not avalible. Best bet would be import from USA if you cant find it here.

5/8 UNC black nuts are certainly available easily - I could walk to the rack at work if I was in work and grab a handful, supplied by a local nut and bolt purveyor.
Coach bolts I have no idea I don't use them - but if longer ones are available, cut a longer one down.
My first point of call would be the Yellow Pages (or would if it still existed?) and find a local bolt and nut supplier/ironmonger and give them a call - you might be surprised what they can and will do.

Some of the companies mentioned are ones that I had explored which suggests I am on the right track. I have come to the conclusion that trying to get everything I need from one supplier in a short timescale is too difficult, so I have split the order using many of the companies people have recommended.
I still can't find anyone selling 5/16"x1" UNC coach bolts and I think I will look into importing them from the USA. The coach bolts are needed to attach the fenders to a 1962 garden tractor. I could use metric and nobody would notice, but it would upset my OCD.
Many thanks for the comments and help Iain

5/16 UNC thread is the same pitch as whitworth, thread angle is slightly different, so, you may be able yo use whit bolts?
