I will try to post this again :-)
Does anybody have any knowledge regarding spartan roadsters ? I am looking at buying one thats been stood for a few years , do they rot in any specific areas ? is there anything I should look out for / beware of ? As yet I don't know if its a triumph or ford based one . . . . .
Cheers , Zak

A mate had a triumph based one many years ago, from what I remember it was mechanically and chassis wise just the donor vitesse, body was alloy and fiberglass and had a few spider lines under the paint but nothing serious.

I can't add anything apart from a mate had one for a bit with a Triumph six in it. It was a proper shed, bodged to hell (I remember the rear suspension featured coach bolts) and the most frightening drive of my life. He sold it for strong money to a guy in Germany.

Make sure that it's correctly registered as a Spartan, if it isn't run away terribly fast

I live literally 3 mins drive from the old factory which is now a used car garage.

Bear in mind that if it's a home-built kit and not a factory one (did they do factory builds?) it will be full of the weird and wonderful. There WILL be bodges somewhere, so be prepared to get busy... As a veteran of rebuilding someone else's kit, you may find a lot that isn't to your standards

Sent they a fibreglass and alloy body on a purpose made chassis? Body will be ok just pay due diligence to the chassis I would have thought ?

Also just remember they were awful, dreadful things when brand new in the 80’s, so I wouldn’t expect they’ve got better 40 yrs later
