Hello all my first post and I'm already on the scrounge! I’m looking for front seats for my Dolly Sprint. Looking for something in the right period. I’ve been looking at Cobra classic RS and similar but will have to pay a bit of a premium to get them made in Brown. And Brown they must be! I do like brown. Let me know now if you have anything interesting ( in brown ) that’s in excellent condition. No projects please. Here, or at adybish@aol.com cheers, Bish

This probably doesn't help, but one of the rs mk2 escorts had brown fishnet recaros. I know because I stripped one and put the seats in my mini.
They would look ace in this but I imagine they are both rare and expensive!

Thanks VW
You are correct, if the Ford Recaros are in good nick they are properly expensive ( to me anyway! ) They are lovely though. I’ve had my eye out for a couple of years now for something brown with no luck, so thought I’d post here. Maybe someone has a pair of seats to suit the Sprint lurking somewhere. If you don’t ask you don’t get n all that..............

If you got a grubby set of seats you could use something like this to recover the centres and then the rest of the seats in a plain brown www.ebay.com.au/itm/324024532953

Thanks ball bag but the issue is that the seats in the Dolly are like sofas -comfortable but not suited to driving pleasure! . They’re in not too bad nick - I don’t want to replace due to shabby ness, rather that they are not fit for purpose, and that I want something more supportive. The original seats will be stored away in case me, or any other owner wants to return to standard.
EDIT - sorry I see what your getting at now! Buy some old rotters and recover them. I’d rather buy something fit for the job if poss, I’ve already got too much to do without refurbing seats.
I will buy new if I have to, just thought I’d see if there was anything out there ?
Cheers, Bish.

Lovely looking Sprint. Need to see more photos in a build thread or showcase Try tedmunds on here - he imports period bucket seats and steering wheels from Japan so might be able to find a brown pair for you. He had a pair of brown and black BRIDE seats on his instagram account at the end of last year but guess they will have sold by now.

Thanks for the replies guys - good work!
I do like the Opel / Vauxhall recaros, if I can find a minty set in brown they will be contenders. My ocd won’t let me fit a black pair of seats in an otherwise brown interior. Whatever seats I end up with they must be in period so no MX5 Seats - as nice as they are, my ocd just won’t let me do it! Plus I’m reliably informed they do sit high. I want to feel like I’m sitting in the car not on it.
Edit To say I missed the link to the fiat seats from minty - thanks but too 90s?
I guess 3.5k for a set Ford RS recaros is how it is these days!? I won’t be fitting a set of those!
I will sort out a build thread for the car, it’s been two years in the making and there’s still plenty of improvements to do, so might be nice to document it here. It’s not an epic build like some of the great threads on here, just a part finished project that I bought and put back together.
Keep em peeled for me, it’s appreciated!
Bish.

I’m a bit reluctant to buy seats before I’ve seen if my will fit into them first though! I reckon I’m gonna have to find somewhere to try the Cobra RS and Interlagos if I decide to go that way too. They do look a bit slim!

Just seen in my emails that Cobra have got back to me with a price of £390 per seat. Quite a jump from £250 in black, and a bit too rich for me, so still looking......

Good work Minty! Thanks for posting that link up. I kept going back to those fiat coupe seats saved in my eBay watch list. The more I looked the more I liked them. You’re right, they are a retro design that won’t look out of place in the Sprint. They are similarly square in shape like the Sprint originals, but should offer a better seating position, and more support. So I snapped them up. I will clean them up and dye them a deeper brown. Shouldn’t be too hard to get the colour closeish to the original Chestnut interior. Got them for £110 too! A little better than the £800 odd quoted for cobras anyway!! I will post a thread up about the Sprint soon. When it’s not too cold out there in the garage! I have lots of minor improvements to do, plus the seats of course. Not an epic build thread as such, but like a say, it would be nice to document my efforts over the last three years here. Thanks again Bish.

Even better that eBay will stop asking me if I’m still interesting them.
